All really lovely tunes indeed.
Reggae fusion with young Belgian songstress is unique.
I've been singing the 9million bikes in Beijing song since this morning...

I love all of his music. A talented honest musician IMO.
His new album is Moon Landing.....Bonfire Heart is a single....from the album of course.
I really enjoy his last album, Some Kind of Trouble, in the car as driving music.

Re: Music can Part 2 - 2013!
I saw him "live on TV" at BBC Roundhouse, quite an intimate concert.....he sang Goodbye and there was such pain in his eyes. I'm pleased that he's sounding happier on Some kind of Trouble !
But he's unique and like Marmite....Love him or hate him.....I love him.
Have you watched his live performances on you tube ?

Does anyone like Tony Joe White...I've loved him since the 70's (Groupy Girl, I Got a Thing About You Baby, Steamy Windows) and now he is 70! I'm going to see him in London in September...can't wait...over excited already...

Yes I have, but it´s not the same as being in the albert hall or such. I´m not big fan of huge stadium concerts, I hate the crowds, plastic cups for drinks and no seats.

Re: Music can Part 2 - 2013!
OK, I can't keep quiet about this! It's perfectly alright for Kanye (and most other rappers) to use the "N" word scattered all through their "lyrics" in a rather disrespectful way, but a WHITE lady (Paula) utters the word with a gun to her head and SHE'S A RACIST! I give up... I won't come back to this thread if this "music" is posted. JMHAO

Re: Music can Part 2 - 2013!
@melbert ~ the "n" word has different connotations amongst Black American sub-culture slang. It's more used as a mock term of endearment, albeit stemming from ridicule, as an ironic homage to slave roots.
That's why non-Blacks (Caucasians & Asians typically) are frowned upon if they use it, as it's considered in a derogatory sense: an offensive racist insult.
Anyway, catchy song & clever lyrics. Thanks for sharing, WWHS.

Re: Music can Part 2 - 2013!
How about "w" (white) word then? Should I get offended when someone calls me that?
I took no part in colonialism, never had slaves. I can sing and dance. What do you mean by "w"? That I´m pale, white as a sheet? I read somewhere "n" word is now again acceptable to use in EU.

Love that Bonfire Heart song by James Blunt.
Sentimental & cheerful.
New to me.
I love his classic "Wise Men" too.

Nice to go back to "in the flesh" meeting up. Liven up all 5 senses...
"Tired of using technology," they harp on, while the audience wave their phones...

I like James Blunt more & more.
@Carla97 - You find some interesting & unusual songs. Just like Best In Category. This too has a nice bop to it.
Remotely similar riff to "Your Woman" by White Town
I love your kitten avatar. Praying... Too cute.

Maybe only an Aussie will love this, but anyone who is my age would have learned this song in Primary School - so loved it and still do. The above clip is also a hilarious look at fashion way back when. And after watching it you will understand why AFL is one of the roughest games out there - no girly chin and shoulder pads for our Aussie men!!

Re: Music can Part 2 - 2013!
Yes, kittens are cute like the one in that wallpaper pic. (just general free pics at stock)
I used to have a cat. I can´t tell the name but it happened that I went to check this rental apartment after people had moved out. It was all walls and nothing else, except the cat.
The cat was in bad shape, neglected to say at least. So I took it to the vet. There I explained the situation. They offered to put it down after vet comes back from lunch. No. No. Okey, then you need to register him or her, they took a look and it was him, as a new patient, and owner... what is your name? Since the ownership was so new and situation so weird they decided to charge me beforehand for whatever operations. I agreed.
He had not been castrated. Vet thought it´s going to be a big problem, but I didn´t think so. Let him have his balls! Home we went. Already the first evening, after a good meal, he was prowling and attacking me, clawing, mourning like crazy at the doors and windows, scratching them and me.
Next morning I could smell he had marked his territory with grand success, especially my walk in closet and piles of clothes in shelves and shoes! I tried to stay calm also couch, bed, carpets...
You could tell that I had a cat by the marks in my arms and legs! A friend asked if I have valid tetanus? Good point, I hurried to get one. After difficult start, he settled in and started behaving more like a domestic cat and not a wild beast. I bought him collar and it had his name and my number carved in, also little bell to scare the birds away.
He was smart and street wise, like a person who has seen a lot. I really loved him and he loved me back. I told him he is the most handsome and clever cat I´ve ever seen and he grew twice the size and put his tail up.
So all was good till the day he didn´t come home. He never went anywhere far. But all of a sudden he was missing. After couple of days I was really worried and put ad for local paper. In a week I got about 50 calls, people had seen a cat like him in their backyards, forests, underneath their houses, but one man called and said your cat is dead and hung up. I didn´t believe.
I went to search for him, where people had suggested I should go. Nothing. Cats yes, but not him. Another missing ad. Same man called again, he said "look your cat is dead, I ran over it with my truck. I removed it from the road with my gardening gloves, it´s on the side of the road in the forest, or what´s left of it. I knew someone is going to miss it."
I asked for location so I could go and take a look. It was rural route far from my house. I couldn´t believe he was there. The man said he lives an hour drive away but will come and show me as there are no clear landmarks. He did and we met and I saw it was him. So the search was over. He rested in a quiet place underneath a very full spruce. The man said he is sorry and I thanked him for coming.
Next two days I couldn´t speak. It felt like if I open my mouth I will start crying and it won´t stop, so I didn´t. After that I avoided talking about it or just briefly said my cat is dead if someone asked.
Even today I feel uncomfortable looking at old pictures of him, my cat.
At that time radio channels were playing a lot Celine Dion`s "think twice".
