Stacy Keibler made it through her second awards season: will she last much longer?
Was anyone else surprised that Stacy Keibler made it through her second awards season as George Clooney’s official girlfriend? I mean, once she made it through January, you knew George Clooney was going to keep her through the Oscars, because he never breaks up with a girlfriend in the middle of the awards season. What surprised me wasn’t that Stacy made it through, it was that she made it through with such little fanfare. During the 2012 awards season – when George was nominated for Best Actor – Stacy was front and center, soaking up the attention and making everything about her Marchesa gowns and her fashion disasters. She was different this time around – quieter, less attention-seeking. Perhaps she was on notice? Rumors have been swirling for months that George is tired/bored with her. So… we’ll see.
I’m including some photos of Stacy out and about in LA yesterday – those are the photos where she’s in all-black (even black Uggs). Again, this isn’t a “look at me, I made it to the Oscars two years in a row” look. This is a “good God, I’m hungover” look. She probably is! Word is that after the Oscars and the Governors Ball, George, Stacy, the Afflecks, the Gerbers, and many more went to a private dinner at Craig’s where everyone was partying until all hours of the night. A witness said, “Their Oscars were on the table, and they did shots of [Clooney’s] Casamigos tequila all night.”
The couple that parties together stays together?

Maybe I'm in the minority (and I usually am) but, I think she will be around for a while. They seem to have a comfortable relationship. He does his thing, she does her's and they come together when they need to. That's pretty much what he wants out of a "relationship".

I agree, I think at this point in his life that's exactly what he needs from a relationship. She's available, affable and not too demanding on his time. He's not a young stud anymore and I think at his age he needs a more stable, if not boring partnership.

I think you may be right Janie although it wouldn't surprise me either if he uses working in Germany as a drift apart excuse. Wonder how much longer her show has to tape?

Re: Stacy Keibler made it through her second awards season: will she last much longer?
Last year she/they repeatedly made the point that George didn't get involved in what she wears. This time, SK is telling people that there was a lot of e-mailing between them over which dress to choose. Either he's more invested in her, or she's coming down with the Clooney Clingies, and manufacturing the appearance that he is.
I can see him saying, "Just don't show the world your nipples," but beyond that I find it hard to believe he had that much to say about it.
He's used the work excuse before. There aren't any major 'couple-y' holidays coming up. I think if he hasn't broken it off a few weeks before his birthday (May), they're good for another 6-9 months - a respectable amount of time before the next awards season. I don't see her making a third round, and he may want his parents with him when he returns as the reigning Oscar king.

I think the "Clooney Clingies" is setting in. I have seen this story before. Thinking they are going somewhere. I think the clock starting for exit stage right Stacy should start now.... It isn't really what he wants out of the relationship. It is when the current arm candy starts thinking about commitment and this is going somewhere, which it never does. Unless Stacy really likes this at a distance relationship. Who knows for sure, what is in her mind? We all know the POISON PILL is to utter the word "marriage." Stacy has not done that yet, so those thinking this may go longer, there you go....

I understand from past comments by Nick Clooney that they don't like going to Awards occasions when their son is a contender. They get too nervous and would rather watch the proceedings at home.
Who can blame them at their age ?

He may not be a contender next year. When is 'Monuments Men' scheduled for release? It's a major production, so might not be finished in time for 2014 awards season. And there's no Oscar buzz about for anything of his coming out this year. So he gets to be The Man next year (Best Picture producer and more category nominations than anyone alive) even without being in contention. That might be the ideal situation for his parents.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

I like the term "Clooney Clingies" lol
I'm not sure that's it though. Sometimes I think Stacy just says whatever she thinks sounds good at the moment. Doesn't really matter if it's accurate or not. Just like the 45 minutes to get ready when last year it was hours. Even me who never gets dressed up much anymore knows she wasn't playing basketball 45 before they left.

On the Celebitchy comments, someone referred to George and Stacy as a 'fauxmance'. I just love new vocabulary words......

It's on one of the Oscar kind of threads. It was print not a video and I think both comments came from the same article.

Re: Stacy Keibler made it through her second awards season: will she last much longer?
The release date for Monuments Men is December 18, 2013, that is the official date. If Stacy and George break up I don't think it will be before her show starts playing, unless something happens. I just have the feeling that George won't want to take anything away from that. I think he sorry to say genuinely cares about her. I don't mean in-love with; but does care.
Then how Stacy feels about George, if she cares about or is in-love with him. If she is truly in-love with George she might be willing to stay with out a committment and not have children. Who knows.
I know I'll have to bite my tongue on this one, if he is happy with her so be it. I wouldn't think anyone is right for him anyway.

Not only a slam against George, but also all Kentuckians and by extension southerners or rural people... which would be more than a slam. It's a slur.
Somebody please clear this up. I know it's supposed to be a joke, but we're talking about the guy who wrote "Good Night, and Good Luck" here. What could be funny about calling him dumb? I must be missing something.

It is not only George’s intelligence, how he used the gifts that God has given him. He is as close to a perfectionist one can be when it comes to his work. I always say that many people do not sign their work today; meaning they do the job but they do not put any more effort into it than the next guy/gal would. In my opinion, George signs his work and then some.

August: Osage County comes out this year too, and there's an Oscar bait film if I've ever seen one. Could be another year of being nominated for two films.
I don't necessarily agree that if she makes it through his birthday it means she'll be a fixture for the rest of the year. I think one of Eli's last public appearances with him was at his birthday dinner. IIRC, it was just a few weeks later that they had "The Last Supper" in Italy and broke up. I do think he has plenty of excuses to back off now if he wants; filming will keep him busy for a while, then I'd expect he'll spend much of the summer editing in Como. All work and no play makes for a single Georgie, I think.

I wouldn't read too much into that. George seems to often play basketball before the Oscars and we have pictures of him on in court in his shorts and t-shirt with Lisa Snowdon and also Sarah Larson in their red carpet dreseses watching him play.

Oh lord, spare us another new girlfriend and her new dodgy background! Much as Stacy isn't great, at least she's never done porn, never got mixed up in prostitution claims or drug use allegations. Fans can still hate on her, but at least they have a lot less to beat her over the head with than some of his past girlfriends. If the relationship is a sham and the break up is calculated to be benefical as part of the goodbye payoff, I think it would be before her show starts to air in May. She would then get lots of press writeups whilst the details of the split coming out that can mention her show and she has lots of opportunity to do the "I'm focused on my career and snack line but he is a great guy and we will always remain friends" BS to the press. He gets a free summer to play around before presenting the world with a newly discovered 31 year old "former Maxim model pictured on page 17 from an issue in 2008" in Sept just in time for the releases of Gravity, August and MM.

Hee hee. I would love to hear a woman say "I'm breaking up with a world-famous, handsome, charming movie star, so I can focus on my snack line."
And if George's PR peeps do read this blog, you get bet they've already pulled that issue of Maxim to see if the Page Seventeen girl is a possible candidate. Let the whitewashing begin!

Okay, I'll say this and let it go. There's a difference between a joke and a slur. Slurs, obviously, are inherently offensive, and I hope beneath anyone who posts here. If not, they should be called out immediately and not tolerated.
I'm black, and old enough to have been directly affected by racism. I happened to be academically gifted, and at my ripe old age still sting at the memory of being called a cheater because "Negro kids aren't that smart." So that comment about George hit close to home. Whole groups of people shouldn't be cruelly stereotyped, period. If George does it himself about himself, that's his prerogative and can be chalked up to sell-deprecating humor. Same with anyone else. But those outside the group should tread lightly.
Off my soapbox and back on topic.

You're probably right, and as much as it would be interesting for the gossip blogs, it does seem when he picks up a new girl it claims a lot of air and frustration in the room.

Yeah! As much as I hate admit it, it would be tough to be his bride with cameras stalking your every moment, people constantly scrutinizing your every move and some sense of loneliness. You know he would continue to donate most of time to his movies and time for Sudan and other worthy causes. But, I would think as a husband he just wouldn't have time for the wife and the children possibly. He would have to give some to make it really work.

He has, and rightfully so I think. When you look at the lives of so many Hollywood celebs, it's a whirlwind round of insta-marriages followed by babies followed by bitter divorces and straight back into marriage with someone else you've only known a few months.
I think George can see the madness in that and chooses not to live that life.
When he said he wasn't cut out for marriage, he knew what he was talking about. We can debate what exactly did he mean by it, but I think we can all agree it's a credo he's stuck to for a long time.

Fresh off his Oscar win for Argo, George Clooney was in Germany yesterday accepting the Deutscher Medienpreis Award. Stacy Keibler, meanwhile, was photographed running errands in LA. You know, they’ve not been together all that much this year. He’s spent some time overseas and she’s been in the States shooting her show. Interestingly enough, almost everyone I talked to over Oscar weekend seemed to be of the opinion that they’ve definitely entered the third act of their relationship.
But she accomplished the once-thought-impossible! She made it to two Oscars in a row!
Here’s a rumour I’ve heard that you’ll enjoy:
Keibler used to deal casually with Geoff Stults. They stopped, obviously, just before Clooney made her his bonafide. The rumour is that Keibler and Stults have been talking again...and that George doesn’t know about it.
If this is true...
Careful, Stacy. It’s not the act that’s off-side but the lack of discretion that’s the most egregious, especially where George Clooney is concerned.
So can Keibler make it to an improbable THIRD Oscars in a row? George is expected to be back at the Dolby next year for August: Osage County and The Monuments Men. And if he’s planning to bring a date that isn’t Stacy, the exit strategy would have to happen soon so that he can have Stacy’s successor in place by, say, the fall, just in time to install her by his side for award season.

Oooooohhhh! Wouldn't that be delicious, seditious and maybe a bit malicious, should Stacy dump George to go back to Geoff! Whoooweeeee! Talk about turning the tables! Oh well, that was my exciting moment of the day. Pardon the outburst.....

Perhaps I should explain.....things get boring at work, so a little drama, real or imagined, spices things up. And yes, I need to get a life.

Don't get it. Within 24 hours Lainey changes her mind about the 'solid' relationship which she's about to back up on her programme tonight...........

Lakin - delicious, seditious and maybe a bit malicious, love it going to try and work it into a conversation today - it would be a turn up for the books, if she did indeed go back to Geoff. I wouldn't want to be the guy after George though, for several reasons.

Well, George spent his childhood in Ohio, educated in the same county that I was, in the same timeframe, so that will reflect on my education also, LOL!!
How ever can this be offensive, ey MM, George is the ONE who's always laughing with his Kentucky roots, so ..., and George is the ONE always focusing on his carreer and not on his lovelife, so ... yes he will be using every braincell on this project, this project is a HUGE investment or do you guys think differently ?

I think Lainey may have just heard the rumor, and it is a pretty good one. Also, not a crime to talk to your ex in Hollywood, but when your current is George Clooney, I think if you sneeze to the left that is a sign you are breaking up.
I believe George. I think the girls get a bit tired after a few years of all the critical, and as a lot have said on here mean attention (this forum is nicer than most) and no formal commitment, especially, if you want a family. Even if you believe it is a pr contract, after a while don't you want a real relationship you don't have to hide from the paps. Just saying third act it may be.

Gosh, mustn't Hollywood be a tricky place to live? Just think of all those past couplings (Damon, Affleck, Pitt, Paltrow, etc etc. Oh and someone called Clooney). Imagine going out of your front door and avoiding all those exes.........you could get paranoid........or drunk....or............

Don't think Lainey was talking about talkin' if you know what I mean. Deal "casually" with her ex suggests friends with benefits, not meeting for coffee to chat. I wondered about them during the Super Bowl. He was at the same party she was. No pics of the two together however so decided it was just they ran in the same crowd.
