We've told this bird how lucky he is to have a stapler to play with and he should think of all those poor African parrots in the wild who don't have toys like this!
And what did he say...."WTF am I supposed to do with this ?"
Great picture
He'll probably get his own FB page now.....Lol

Re: Animals?
Here you go, our little acrobat who still hasn't figured he can't get down from his stand head first. He gets his beak on the floor of his stand, then takes one leg off whatever he's holding on to (in this case a heavily chewed flipflop) and windmills it around trying to find something to stand on to take the pressure off his head. When he realises he can't do it he gives a great squawk of outrage at the unfairness of the universe.Joanna wrote:Katie...can we have our weekly fix of a parrot picture please ?

I bet watching Millie following that surfer was a hoot! And that whale video brought a big lump in my throat at the end when the whale was showing its appreciation.

Re: Animals?
that pig is NOT in the sink. Isnt that a toilet or bidet (or however you spell it)? Whatever it is, it's close to the floor as you can see the floor moulding in the background. But the pig is a cute little thing. Just wait until it's bigger tho and it tries to climb into the toilet!

Re: Animals?
Deb! Love that pic! And isn't that the truth...
We had a "miserable" Siberian who was just a little devil but the most beautiful princess in the world. She used to love to get soaked and then she'd waltz into the house and I swear, get right next to a wall and then shake to high heaven! Mud and water would go all over! Stinker Butt!

My Duke (named after John Wayne) no longer with me, but was such a cutie, if not completely untrainable (his cousin Amber Louise who I had for 13 years was superbly trained) oh well he was a beautiful pup..

I love you Duke! He reminds me of my Leroy now. He's part Rotty and he does that wonderful gaze that Duke's giving you in that pic! I love that serious Rotty look.
My Siberian was a nut! Beautiful but the hardest dog I ever had. Didn't mind a lick. She lived to outsmart humans. And walking her was like being the sled as she hauled along at top pace!

Thanks Jo - I miss my Rottweiler's, not exactly lapdogs (both were over 50 kilograms each) but such sweethearts - Amber was particularly devoted - haven't had a dog since, don't know if I ever will.

Re: Animals?
Thanks Jo. I know you look at your baby the same way we do--they're members of our family! My current chunk of love is one of the most wonderful dogs I've ever had and the funniest combo: half Rotty, quarter Lab and...quarter Shiba Inu! He's a rescue and lives to be good! Quite a turn around from the Siberian! I swear her motto in life was Husky 1, Human 0!

Re: Animals?
LA shelters euthanize about 7000 dogs a day - breaks my heart. I see posts for people giving away their animals because the animal doesnt fit their lifestyle anymore, or they are moving and cant take the animal with. I have a fake email account where I reply to them with a little story called "How Could You". If you google and read it, bring tissues with. Negligent people tick me off when it comes to how they treat their animals.

Re: Animals?
So agree Deb! I'm part of a small rescue group in my community and the number of people who either have animals they shouldn't as they don't properly care for them or get puppies and then decide to dump them just amazes me.
My Chunk was rescued by a group that put him into a prison training program for 12 weeks and OMG, he is so well trained, it's like a miracle! First dog I ever had who heels. He is a very "unusual" looking guy with his mix so no one wanted to adopt him when he was done with the program. He had a hip injury that turns out was dislocated years ago and we're going to have to have a hip replacement done in July. We took him to foster as he had been languishing at a shelter again for a few months out of the prison program and in 3 days we fell in love with the little guy and adopted him! Best decision we ever made!

Pet adopters are the best! I offer free pet photography along with an 8x10 portrait to anyone who rescues a pet from a shelter, anything but snakes. Dont do snakes. Dont even look at pics of snakes.
Anyway, here is a pic that was on the news of a woman who rescured a dog. This image says it all :

In keeping with tradition
And defying all sedition
a doggie poem may be silly
Save when that doggie is Millie!
She's sweet, she's savvy, she's travelled
She chases all surfing strings unravelled
At home in backyard or vacation sand
She prefers Daddy's chair 'cuz it's grand!
Happy Birthday, Mils, from the crew
From Chico, from Callie, from Sue!
Hope Mommy gives you a big fat steak for dinner!
