Now it seems people should be scanned for weapons before going into theaters too. Sad.

The guy didnt come into the theater in the usual way; he came thru an exit door. I'm guessing that he must have gone into the the theater like everyone else, and then propped the door open before he left so he could come in thru the exit door at a later date. But then that is all just an opinion.

I Watched NBC news, an eyewitness said he paid for his ticket, then went out the emergency door to his car where he had the guns and gas bombs. He came back into the theater through the emergency door, stood in the front, released the gas bombs and opened fire on the people in the theater. 13 people dead, over 50 injured.

Anybody got any word on Playfuldeb yet? Has she found her son? I just PMed her, but wondered if maybe someone else had heard anything.

No she hadn't at 3am...LA time... Friday when she last emailed me.

I feel sick with worry for her here.

Hi All!
Finally home from hospital. Still not getting around too well but it's so good to be home. Had to rearrange the house a bit, but will get used to all that. Will be isolated to one floor for a few months, until I can put full weight on left leg. Won't try stairs to 2nd floor till then. Am renting a hospital bed till then. Completed 2 weeks of Rehab yesterday, learned to take care of myself, dress myself, use a "tub chair", maneuver around in kitchen and things like that.
While I was "indisposed" did anything worth knowing happen or has it been "same old, same old". Haven't had time to go through all the stuff I missed. Had over 500 junk emails to go through, it was unbelieveable. Gonna go to bed now. Am tired and hurt some, so off I go. Will be back in full force soon. My daughter from New Mexico is staying with me for now, so I won't have much "alone" time to chat. It's good to be home. Missed you all.

Pattygirl, is anyone else besides your daughter staying with you? Do you have neighbors that will help? Are you near LA? I will help you. I have you in my prayers for a speedy and painfree recovery

Have just spent 20 minutes of my lunchbreak trying to teach our office parrot to say "I'm a chicken" to no avail.

The funny thing is, he belongs to our boss and we've been trying to teach him (the parrot) to say "Hello boss" in the mornings. We've finally got the bird saying "Hello boy" and now we're trying to get him to say it with a short 'o' so now we're getting "Hello Bob". Our boss' name is not Bob and he's so annoyed.

My little 5 year old girl is having her tonsils and adenoids removed in 3 days - and like a typical mum, Im real nervous about it. Do any of you have any experience with your children having that procedure and how did it go - appreciate any info you can provide - but nothing real scary as Im frightened enough for her as it is!! That must be a British thing, Joanna! I had my adenoids out when I was very little and my sole memory is of ice cream afterwards. Apparently I bit the anaesthetist when he tried to put the mask over my face, much to my mother's embarassment!

Good for you Katie....I don't think we were treated as well in hospital as the children are today, and I'm pleased it's 100% better for them....it was a frightening time then for kids in hospital.

In a Purdue University classroom, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of the United States .. It was pretty simple. The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.

However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.

The class was taking it in and letting her rant, and not many jaws hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, "What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?"

Yep, these are the same kinds of 18-year-olds that are now voting in our elections! They breed, and they walk among US...

playful - thanks for your kind offer but LA to NY is a pretty long commute. I do have wonderful neighbors, but my girls are really enough. I can get around pretty well with the walker. Had a wonderful night's sleep last night. Didn't encounter too much pain.

cindi - have both laptop and computer so I'm here. Have been in limbo, sort of. Been doing a lot of reading, didn't bother with TV in hospital, it was great. Not a great selection of channels to choose from so why bother.

Didn't see any Dr. Ross' while abed, but the Resident assigned to me was delicious. Real eyecandy. He took out my staples. Was lying on bed (in street clothes because of rehab exercise) when he came in. Was awkward getting at staples, so I said "let me get up and pull my pants down so you can do more easily". He said no, no, that's okay. Pulled pants down my left thigh and too them out. Finished and left. I ran my hand down my leg and found 3 more staples. Called nurse, she called him back. He again pulled one side down to reach staples; said goodnight and left. A bit later, I put had on leg near knee, guess what - yep, more staples. This time when nurse came, had to pull pants all the way down, she saw, called him back (almost left the building) and he finished th job. When my surgeon came in later I told him the story - his remark " Well, I guess he learned something today!" He was really worth looking at though. Was the last Dr I saw as I left hospital. Nice final sight.

Hey patty, the resident sounds a bit like a bimbo but if he's good looking, so what? Probably not Dr. Ross good looking but to find a doctor who is looking that good is rare. It seems you enjoyed his attention and I'm glad he was your final sight !!

to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk
to them so you would be covered.

Me: (softly) I see God.

God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw
out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to
be in the dark.

Me: I'm sorry God.

God: Don't be sorry, just learn to trust me.....in all things, the good
and the bad.

Me: I will trust you.

God: And don't doubt that my plan for your day is always better than your
plan.

LOL.... thanks Lakin....the first two are "over the garden wall" on full zoom of the distant fields in the west, where I get the sunsets.

The birds are in trees just over the other garden wall, facing south.

And the table & chairs are on the patio....left out in all weathers
