I don't think I would want him as a husband. He's admitted he's really bad at marriage. Now if he wanted to take me on vacation to Europe, that would be just great!

No, I don't think so. It's not a copyrighted or trademarked name and as long as she doesn't say anything bad about him or misrepresent his character then probably it's ok.

I would guess that the publishers' lawyers ran it past George's team at some point though just to be on the safe side.

IMHO, I think if George ever did change his mind and get married, he would probably marry someone who would accept his workaholic persona, and genuinely want to be there. I also think that if he did marry, he would really work very hard to make it work. He knows now that marriage takes work, and would just add that to his other "jobs". If he married, it would be because he was truly in love, and would be ready to give it the attention it deserves. If course, I don't think it'll ever happen because he's afraid of failing at it again.

He definitely knows what it would take but isn't willing to give it. His life works for him and if he is happy it's all good.

Agreed, if it ain't broken, don't fix it!!!

IMO he doesn't want to be responsible for another persons happiness on a full time basis,if he were to remarry I think he would feel guilty about all the time he works and the enjoyment he gets from it.

If a man feels guilty because his work demands take him away from his marriage, then he has married the wrong woman. A military couple must realize that their relationship will be different because he/she is doing what he/she loves. Not all marriages follow the same pattern, so one must be realistic.

IMO no one is responsible for someone else's happiness, but everything George has ever said about marriage/relationships makes me believe that is how he felt when married or in long term relationships. He doesn't want to feel responsible to another person, the type of relationship you have with a wife/husband,not the type you share with a friend. He has no problem with long term commitments to the friends he loves.

That could also explain why he doesn't want the children as well, the responsibility
