Thanks guys, I had responded to Sisieg post because I like smart people with a good sense of humour. Even if I do feel it is destructive to pretend that something is right when it is not (IMO), I also feel it is constructive to forget.
Getting back to the thread, it looks like she finally got her night out with all the paps. around. So where is her big smile, why the head down with sad expression??. Personally, I don't like her coat, but the make up is much more natural than I have ever seen before for the night out.

I think she is slightly overwhelmed by the paps' flashing lights and intrusion. I know George is used to it but not her so much. IMO

But she loves the paps and so there in lies the rub as to why we are wondering why the downcast look. She finally gets taken out and she plays shy and coy? She is definitely getting coached by someone IMO.

Okay I know I'm doing a double post so I apologize for that, but looking at the pictures I find it interesting that he really isn't holding her hand but is holding her fingers. Is that normal for a couple in love? I personally hold my hubby's HAND when I walk with him.

I don't want to get into a thing here but George doesn't look too happy either about the pap fuss. This is just my opinion.

Giddy in love! George Clooney treats smitten Stacy Keibler to a romantic dinner date

Romance was on the menu for George Clooney and Stacy Keibler last night.
The Hollywood bachelor treated his pro-wrestling girlfriend to a dinner date at Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood.
Giddy in love: George Clooney appeared to be a man smitten as he took his girlfriend Stacy Keibler on a dinner date in Los Angeles last night

Grinning from ear to ear, the 50-year-old actor dutifully escorted his companion out of the eatery, gently wrapping his arm around the 33-year-old's waist.

In fact, the couple couldn't wipe the coy smiles off their face as they made their way back to the car.
Clooney kept close to Stacy, even grabbing her hand as the statuesque blonde walked ahead of him.

The WWE Diva looked both chic and snug in a black coat cinched in at the waist with a gold belt, which she paired with skinny black trousers and a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps.
She wore simple silver hoops in her ears and carried a Chanel handbag.
George, meanwhile wore a navy leather biker jacket and a pair of casual denim jeans.
So happy: Grinning from ear to ear, the actor kept close to his lady love

It wouldn't be surprising if Craig's is one of Clooney's regular haunts.
The restaurant is described as classic Hollywood and it's decor as 'manly and sexy, dark lighting, navy leather booths, dark wood.'
Stacy recently tweeted about being 'in love' with her superstar boyfriend.
And ever since dating Stacy, Clooney's content smile and relaxed demeanour makes it apparent that the feeling is mutual.

The couple recently returned from a second romantic holiday together in Mexico.
There, the actor got some much needed rest, recuperating from his recent shoulder surgery, with of course plenty of affection from Stacy.

His new love also kept active, hitting the waves in a jet ski before lounging in the sunshine with members of the entourage that were holidaying with them.
It's possible that the past twelve months, which Clooney has described as the 'worst' of his life after suffering a spinal injury on the set of Syriana which left him in so much pain he contemplated suicide, has made him finally reassess his priorities.

He certainly seems more relaxed about showing his affection for Stacy, who has the added bonus of being a long-term friend who has become a girlfriend.
She has spoken publicly about the couple's relationship, something he has always admitted to hating in a woman in the past.
Indeed, it's suspected to be one of the reasons he finally ended his affair with Canalis.
The bubbly athlete caused headlines last month when she used the 'L' word when referring to her boyfriend very publicly, via her Twitter account.

And the painstakingly discreet Clooney said in a recent interview that he didn't mind Stacy tweeting about their high-profile romance.
'She can do whatever she wants,' he said, when grilled on the subject. 'I rarely tell anybody what they should be doing with their life.'
The pair went public with their romance at the Toronto Film Festival in September. Clooney joked recently about his statuesque love: 'She's very tall. She can kick my a**.'

For a couple that is supposed to be, "SOOOO IN LOVE....<" I find it rather odd that George and Stacy are not totally holding hands. It seems like George is leading Stacy through a maze, and does not wants her to get lost.

It's funny, I looked at the pictures carefully and couldn't pick out the coy smiles on their faces. They both looked like they wanted to be on another planet. LOL
And, Isn't Stacy 32 years old? I wonder where these journalists get their facts from. LOL

Cindigirl, check out more pics from The Daily Mail of the "grinning couple with coy smiles." And I wrote in Sept, media say whatever they think their readership wants, combined with what the PR teams of stars want to give them. No one would believe me, then.

Yeah, and they also state that he was injured on the Syriana set in the last twelve months. That movie is six years old.
Between the lack of hand-holding (which her predecessors got all the time), and the fact that they appear to have had dinner alone (which at least Sarah and Eli never got), this is feeling more and more like a friends with benefits situation. No great love affair, just having fun and enjoying each other's company. Can't begrudge them that.

I still don't see coy smiles. All I can see is grimacing on George's part and a look of resignation on Stacy's face.

Maybe she does not have her Stacy smile on because over dinner he told her "Really Babe I don't want to get married or have children, but as long as you follow the relationship rules you can stay" Maybe she realized last night he really meant it.

Re: George Clooney at dinner with Stacy 6 Dec 2011
Isn't this is the normal standard operating procedure for George date nights? Betty had to play this game too but she couldn help herself whe the paps were around as she always smirked at the attention. G and date have to look resigned that the press intrusion in their lilves so they don't get called on their famewhoring ways. If they came out of the place with big smiles in place there would be no different between their BS and that of the Karashdain's.
Stacy has not once been seen without a big smile on her face at the attention and now post premieres where he has nothing to sell to the general public, they are doing this. He has nothing to promote any more so he at Stacy will become more visible now so he doesn;t get forgotten about in the Oscars race but this still allows him to get on his high horse about how he "doesn't play the Hollywood game". Tactic move. At least she is in on it.

I agree bamboo - this was not just a case of being unhappy with the intrusion of the paps (as if a famewh*re is ever unhappy when a pap is there). After all look at how overjoyed she was with the attention when she was shopping!!! There is a hell of a difference in being fed up and in being sour. And she was SOUR.

The pics very closely resemble those of George and another woman, standing outside Il Gato Nero a few days before they broke up. Only thing missing is the envelope George had that I'm guessing contained the post-relationship confidentiality contract, the final pay off, or both.

Re: George Clooney at dinner with Stacy 6 Dec 2011
I read on one of the gossip blogs they thought she was trying hard not to do her Stacy smile, it looked like she was holding back on not laughing, but to look cool about the paps. They thought she was enjoying the attention. Some of the pictures when they were coming out of the restaurant he was holding her waist and then her hand. If it were not for the paps I think they looked like they were a couple . Also, just because we did not see it, they actually could have had dinner with other people. I am not surprised about these date photos, over the weekend some of the gossip sites and comments were saying how she walked the red carpet alone in Munich and he was out with friends at a club. They need to prove they are still together and now the public has proof.

I would say it will be after coffee and cake. How could he take it on an empty stomach, her whining, weeping, going crazy ?. I don't think it would be a good enough reason for him to waste good and expensive meal.

Let's just say they promote the truth the way they'd like it to be, which is not necessarily the way it actually was!davidarochelle wrote:Cindigirl, are you saying that the paps or Pr teams lie? Or that they just "color the truth with a little white-wash?"
In these kind of shots though, the PR team had little to do with the story - the tabloids get the pics from the paparazzi and make up whatever they think goes best with the pictures. No PR input required except possibly for making the phone call to the paps in the first place.
Stacy seems to be trying hard not to smile. I guess if George is not posing for the cameras, then she has to not pose too.

Well, she can hardly stand there posing and smiling when George is head down and doing his best to ignore the paps, can she?
If she had smiled she'd have been ripped apart for famewhoring and when she doesn't smile she gets called sour. Lose-lose situation for her, really.
ETA: weird that the photos show a much longer sequence than the video.

Re: George Clooney at dinner with Stacy 6 Dec 2011
Stacy doesn't have to stand there and pose and smile she can smile and walk she has done it before. George doesn't look that grim, but Stacy doesn't look happy. She was fine smiling with her friend at the gym , fine shopping but she goes out to dinner with George and does this? It doesn't look right and the first thing I thought when I saw this was the last dinner with Eli. I seem to remember people saying how happy and in love George and Eli looked and a couple days later it was over! I doubt they were alone but it makes it look more like a romantic date. These two just can't seem to get the couple vibe going maybe George told her she won't be coming to Oz or he won't be around for Christmas. Stacy should be looking thrilled if she is getting the next couple of months of attention being George's arm candy. She can't be that tired she can't even smile usually she can't stop grinning. People have been saying that there have been no dinner out pictures now there are.......right when she goes to Germany alone and George is being seen out and about. I wonder if Eli will show up with her non "boyfriend" Mehcad next or if it is really over?

Re: George Clooney at dinner with Stacy 6 Dec 2011
Since this is the first time we have seen them out to dinner they have either managed to get out and about unnoticed all this time or this is the first time he has taken her out to dinner. So why would we feel sorry for them? George has been in the business 20 years at least Stacy over 10 and this is the reason why they are dating. If George didn't want to be papped he wouldn't have gone to this place to eat with her. And Stacy was smiling and happily laughing away a couple of weeks ago out to dinner with her friends and the paps were just like that out in full force and it didn't bother her then but for some reason she doesn't do that here with George. Can he be that much of a downer to eat with? She looked happier with Chris Evans whoever the heck he is. Maybe George's check didn't clear......

@zizi.YaY
If she would have other characteristical attributes and another past, I could find 1, 2 nice things to say about her. BUT she doesn't, so I won't.
What I see is a mismatched "couple" and AGAIN I ask myself WHY did George feel the urge to make this "relationship" public ?!?

If there'd have been other "dates" we would have heard about it - she would have twittered about it. As you say Dex - this is the whole reason they're dating. I can't imagine that he'd be anywhere near a downer to eat with, but I can well imagine that she'd be awfully hard to take for four hours. Even though they share a love of football, can't you just imagine how "cheer leadery" she'd be??? And then after that, what the hell would she talk about - one of her two loves? And I bet it wouldn't be the dog!!! Then cleasing!!
Oh wait - maybe they were in there for four hours because she made them change the size of the dinner plates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've come to the conclusion that none of the tabs know what the word "smitten" means......The looks on either of their faces is definitely not, smitten. And where is that big Cray Cray Cracy smile???? Neither one of them look happy, and if they're that perturbed with the paps then use the back entrance - if they didn't want to be seen/photoed, they didn't have to be. We all know this.

George & Stacy's Touchy-Feely Dinner Date
George Clooney and Stacy Keibler braved the chilly L.A. weather for a date night at Craig's. The couple joined Clooney's producing partner and a female for dinner in a private booth, where they sipped cocktails and wine. (Clooney opted only for the wine, however.) And the actor wasn't skimping on the PDA. A fellow diner tells us he was rubbing Keibler's leg and, at one point, she ran her hands through his hair. Says the diner: "He just laughed and put his head on the table." – Julie Jordan

Re: George Clooney at dinner with Stacy 6 Dec 2011
I just kinda strikes me that George isn't that bothered about Stace in the sense that she's quite "big" therefore can look after herself and that he doesn't really need to hold her hand. If she were petite, he would be guiding her thro, waiste or hand. If she's a lads girl, this probably adds to the cause. She does look a little miffed, but then that could be the paps. But I do agree, strange the outing now, just for show with no substance! The leg thing was Oooogieeee!!!!

The pic on the People Magazine site that leatval posted is attributed to Norman Scott from StarTraks. This is what lainey had to say yesterday about StarTraks in her post about Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, where StarTraks got pictures of them together:
' The photo agency distributing these images is Startraks. Startraks usually gets very exclusive exclusives. And very friendly to celebrities. You hear what I’m trying to say, right?'
In other words, this was a premeditated photo op. Again.

I hear what your saying but the article describes a lot of PDA in the restaurant. I get the photo op thing, but was the PDA for show or was that for real or was that a little of both. It also sounds like Grant was there and probably maybe his wife, so they weren't alone. If he wanted to give a great gossip story he would have taken her out alone.

Re: George Clooney at dinner with Stacy 6 Dec 2011
There were a lot of paps there, not just from one agency so if they were called they'd have been majorly pissed off not to get an exclusive. Not saying the paps weren't called but the fact that one outlet (People) used pics from a suspicious agency doesn't prove anything in this case.
Thanks Laetval for finding that article. I think a few of us were wondering if they really did have dinner alone and it seems not.

Hard to know. Maybe with all the paps outside he felt he had to put on a show? Dunno.lovelylois wrote:was the PDA for show or was that for real or was that a little of both
