George on David Letterman Oct 5, 2011
David Letterman schedule has George listed for this Wednesday, October 5th. But who knows when he actually will tape it (or has taped it).
Possibly the day before? Recently Nathan Fillion taped on a Monday but the show didn't air till Tuesday so it's anyone's guess when he'll actually be there. Or he might have already taped it.

Clooney on Charlie Rose show Thursday
George Clooney will discuss "The Ides of March" Thursday on PBS' "Charlie Rose" show, not Tuesday, as reported in Sunday's Enquirer.
The Oscar-winning actor, who directed, produced and co-wrote the political thriller set mostly in the Cincinnati area, can be seen three times Thursday with Rose, who appears in the film as himself (11 p.m. Channel 14; 11:30 p.m. Channel 48; midnight Channel 16).
Clooney also visits David Letterman's CBS "Late Show" Wednesday (11:35 p.m., Channels 12, 7).

I just saw that he will appear on Regis and Kelly on Thurs. Oct 6th! I thought he didn't do shows/interviews like this anymore. I remember him (his people) stating that he will only do some print media interviews. Am I wrong? Does anyone else remember that?

Yes, he did say that a while back. He said interviews about his movies do not help the film. I think he's doing this now because IOM is his "baby."

I think so too Cindy. When he directs and produces he seems inclined to go on the road to sell it. For this film I think it's about distribution and market share.

As far as Regis and Kelly goes, George would stop and see them anyway as Regis stated that George is his favorite celebrity guest and Regis is leaving in November. Also, Stan is Kelly's PR guy too!

Anyone Remember Clooney in Viva Cincinnati?
2:30 p.m. WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Just got this email from Metro marketing director Dave Etienne, who went to NKU with George. He’s guessing this was a NKU class project. He writes:
“I went to NKU with George Clooney for a semester before he left town. As a fellow RTF (radio/TV/film) student, I would bet that this clip was from a class project. We all had to do them for our TV production class with Ron Wilson (from Channel 48.) We had to produce our own and we ended up being crew and talent for everyone else’s. I have an old VHS at home of all my projects. Let me tell you, that was some cutting edge TV entertainment! I can’t prove this, but that’s where my money would be.” –Dave Etienne, Metro Marketing Director
ORIGINAL POST 11:33 A.M. WEDNESDAY: Can you help me — and David Letterman’s “Late Show” staff — figure out why George Clooney was involved with a TV show called “Viva Cincinnati” here in the early 1980s?
Letterman wants to air an old clip tonight when Clooney guests (11:35 p.m., Channels 12, 7, CBS) that has previously aired on “Dateline NBC.” Clooney appears as news reporter “Timothy Clooney” (his middle name) doing a report outside The Precinct restaurant. Owner Jeff Ruby thinks it was close to the Bengal’s 1982 Super Bowl game… or sometime during that 1981 season, according to the Letterman staff.
I’ve never heard of “Viva Cincinnati,” and I can’t find the clip on YouTube. Long-time employees at Channel 12 — where his dad Nick Clooney was news anchor in 1982 — don’t recall George every doing any reporting for the station. In fact, George in the past told me that he moved to LA in the early 1980s to become an actor because he knew he would always be in his father’s shadow here. There is no “flag” or logo on George’s microphone. All the TV stations have a mike flag to identify/promote their station.
Was “Viva Cincinnati” a public access or Warner Amex QUBE show? In the early 1980s Time Warner cable was just starting up, and did a lot of local programming. George’s mother Nina did a bunch of different shows on Time Warner’s QUBE at that time.
Was it for “PM Magazine” on Channel 12? Or was it a resume tape for George? A practical joke? A NKU project?
Do you know anything about it? Post a comment or email me here.
Can you solve the mystery?

Just finished watching "The George Clooney" show. The show runs until 12:37 and it is now 12:30. He was only guest (except for the musical guest Mastodon). He was his usual funny self. They talked about so many things that they didn't get to IOM until 12:25. It was great. Showed a clip never showed on TV promos before. He was relaxed and funny. George to the enth degree.

George Clooney Visits the "Late Show"

He’s always a fan favorite, and George Clooney drew quite the crowd upon arrival to the “Late Show With David Letterman” on Wednesday (October 5).
The “Men Who Stare at Goats” actor looked dapper as usual as he readied for his late night show interview to promote his latest movies “The Ides of March.”
Meanwhile, it was just announced that Clooney is set to share the secrets of his success at a leadership conference in Sydney, Australia on December 12.
The purpose of the conference is to inspire businesses and employees and in a statement, George said, "There is more attention on celebrity than ever before - and there is a use for that besides selling products. My job is to amplify the voice of the guy who lives in Darfur and is worried about his wife and children being slaughtered."

Dex - Letterman is still on here on channel ten, usually after 11pm. We are usually a day or so behind the US with the episodes.
Just checked the online tv guide for OZ - Letterman is on at 11:30pm for the rest of these week. I'm just going to record it and check it the next day unless someone posts it earlier here.

Watch David Letterman Quiz George Clooney About Vera Farmiga’s Butt
George Clooney returned to the Late Show tonight after a three-and-a-half year absence, so naturally there were many things David Letterman wished to discuss with him. Chief among them: Vera Farmiga's backside, which apparently has been on Letterman's mind since seeing Clooney and Farmiga appear together in Up in the Air a couple of years ago.

I personally feel that David Letterman is a dick in general. He always tries to make his guests uncomfortable. No wonder George stays away from his show. Amazed that he didn't probe him about TA love scene. Essentially George was there to promote IOM and Letterman didn't even touch on it until the end when there was no more time.

Re: George on David Letterman Oct 5, 2011
Letterman being a dick...
He went on about the fact that George had not been to the show in over three years.
I think George took it well. Also, I'm sure Letterman discussed with George the general vein of what the topics would be - George seemed okay with them i.e. was a good sport.
Overall I think it was a nice interview.
They spoke about Darfur and the issues in North and South Sudan which I thought was a good thing.
One comment George made about the Sudan Sentinel Project (i.e. the satellite that George pays for to watch over the border between North and South Sudan) was funny. He said one of the diplomats? from North Sudan asked how he would feel if cameras were pointed at his house all the time. George just gave that look that said it all - like - "Buddy welcome to my world."
He then said that he just wanted to afford the North the same "celebrity" status that he is afforded by pointing those cameras at their border.
They spoke about Up In The Air and also The American. Dave said that he really, really loved both of those films. George mentioned that he was probably one of the three people that saw The American.
I give Dave credit - at least he DIDN'T ask him about his girlfriends. And I'm sure that was a stipulation of George appearing on the show. Which for me was a nice reprieve!
The last time George was on Jay Leno's show Jay asked him a question that I thought was out of line. Something about whether his head/spinal injury in any way affected his love making ability. I thought that question was probably a good reason NOT to do the Jay Leno show again.
All in all though, Dave was being his usual crass self in some respects, but in others, I think he was much more respectful of George than others have been in the past.
I enjoyed this interview. It was a good mix of funny, some nice stories about Lake Como - what they did to Walter Cronkite was pretty hysterical and George's comment about Walter's reaction was funny and the more serious stuff like the Sudan issue.
Katiedot - if you can open this link then there is a vid you can watch of the interview. It's on the front page - at least at this point. Hope it works for you.

Same here. Guests should know to expect the unexpected when they go on his show. Loved the playback clip where they put together all the noises George made during the interview. And when he asked George something and G said "Can't we just talk about Vera's butt again?"
