(AGI) Rome - The Italian Superenalotto lottery is also attracting some of the most famous celebrities. Following Paris Hilton, George Clooney and Madonna have stocked up on tickets to win the record 60 million euro jackpot.

According to reports from the lottery press agency Agicos, sellers confirmed the purchase by celebrities of a number of tickets. "Clooney's assistant bought 50 one-euro tickets on Monday morning," said Andrea Dola, the owner of a betting shop in the Cannaregio district of Venice, who added: "However, last week it was Madonna's turn. There are many celebrities who do it, but they often prefer to remain anonymous."

It seemed familiar when I posted it. Either George is a regular lottery ticket buyer or they use celebs' names to promote whenever they have big lottery prizes and sales are slow.

Well, I did buy my lottery ticket for tonight, so when you all watch the news tomorrow and it says "MELBERT won the lottery", you can say "I knew her when..." But, I won't forget any of you. I'll just be typing from my new digs in Italy!!!!!

You can all come on George's private plane. We'll start on the west coast, stop in the central states (north and south), stop on the eastern seaboard, pick up our British, French, Egyptian, oops back across for the South Americans and everybody else I may have forgotten (sorry). Oh, and the far east too. Oh dear, I better get a road map!!!!!
