Stylish couple: George Clooney gushed over his 'magical wife' Amal as they were seen attending the History Talks event together on Saturday in Washington D.C
Speaking to ETOnline about their relationship, George, 61, said there is 'no downside' when it comes to being married to Amal, 44.
He said: 'Eight years! And they said it wouldn't last. Everything about my wife is sort of magical, as I think everybody has come to realize as they see her and hear her and hear what she stands for. There's just no downside to her!'
The Gravity star was asked about the 'moral code' he and his wife hope to instil in their four-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.
He said: 'The same thing I think everybody wants to instil in their kids, really. Which is to pay attention to other people. In my family, the rules were always "Challenge people with power, defend people with less power." And if you can do that, you've had a good life.'

The powerful duo met nearly ten years ago in 2013. George explained to People about the day he first met his future wife. 'It's the wildest thing. A mutual friend of ours said, 'I'm stopping by and can I bring my friend?'
'And I was like, 'Of course.' I got a call from my agent who called me and said, 'I met this woman who's coming to your house who you're gonna marry,' the actor added.
Upon crossing paths, sparks immediately flew. One year later, George got down on one knee and proposed.
When reflecting on the special night, the star told the entertainment publication that Amal was utterly surprised and it took her a few moments to respond.
'She just kept staring at the ring, going, 'Oh, my God.' It was 20 minutes of me on my knee, waiting for her to say yes, because she was so shocked.'
