Re: Floods and landslide debris in Laglio again
Good grief, what a mess! I wonder if George's home was affected. Seems like he can't catch a break. If it isn't water damage and flooding, (Sonning), it's landslides (Laglio) or water shortages (LA). I wonder what natural disaster will hit the estate in France or the property in Portugal. His house in Kentucky is on the water, too, so flooding may be a problem there as well. At this point the condo in Manhattan seems the safest bet.

Definitely being hit by the effects of global warming, isn't he? These pix show how close this is to his house.
But I can't blame him for choosing the most stunning places near water. Brignoles is the exception I think. Wonder how Augusta is faring....

Landslides crash through Lake Como town where George Clooney owns luxury villa a year after similar downpours saw flooding climb to his first-floor balcony
- Nearly four inches of rain fell in a few hours last night in Laglio on the shores of the stunning Lake Como
- Firefighters have freed residents blocked in their homes by stones and mud after heavy landslides
- Last year, floods in the same town caused severe damage and rocked Clooney's luxury Villa Oleandra

George Clooney's Lake Como town has been struck by heavy flooding for the second time in a year, causing huge landslides in the picturesque Italian region.
Nearly four inches of rain fell in a few hours in Laglio last night, with water and mud blocking homes and sweeping away cars.
Firefighters have been deployed to free residents stuck in their houses and help remove the heavy stones and mud moved by the landslides.

A person tries to clean up mud after flooding and landslides caused damage in Lake Como in Laglio, a year after similar weather
As of yet, there are no reports of injured people but there is serious damage to a number of homes in the town at the foot of the Alps.
The town of Nesso has also been affected and the Regina Vecchia state highway has been blocked.
Many were forced to evacuate their homes as volunteers rushed to help, with another weather alert issued today.
Hailstorms, heavy showers and strong gusts of wind are expected to follow the huge downpour in a region which is no stranger to biblical showers.

George Clooney is pictured with Mayor of Laglio Roberto Pozzi in the midst of the rubble caused by flooding last year
The amount that fell in the space of a few hours last night was more than the entire rainfall recorded between January and early May in Laglio.
In July last year, Clooney's villa was hit by similar flooding and the Hollywood A-lister helped locals clear the debris.
The actor was staying at Villa Oleandra with wife Amal and their twins Ella and Alexander when flooding caused by three days of torrential downpours hit.
A large expanse of mud, wood, and debris washed up against the villa and reached a first-flood balcony with the front door also blocked, Italian media reported.

Clooney and Amal own Villa Oleandra which sits on the shores of Lake Como in the town of Laglio
The star was seen helping locals clean up the damage in Laglio and met with mayor Roberto Pozzi at some of the worst-hit spots.
He also shook hands with local business owners, showing support for their plight.
'It's much worse than I thought', he told TV station TG1 in English, apologising for his lack of Italian.
'In Cernobbio the situation is serious. I spoke with the mayor, there will be a lot of work, it will take millions of dollars, but this city is strong.
'It will react and return better than before. This is a very resilient city.'
