Netflix has revealed a snippet (literally only 20 seconds) of first footage for its anticipated sci-fi thriller The Midnight Sky, directed by and starring George Clooney.

It’s less a date announcement as the video claims, more a teaser for the trailer itself, which drops tomorrow at 5AM PST. The film is expected to hit the service in December.

The post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe. Co-starring are David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir, Tiffany Boone and Caoilinn Springall.

Clooney recently discussed the film during a London Film Festival screen talk, explaining how they shot on 65mm with the intention of showing it on IMAX. He also revealed some of the biggest challenges during production, including brutal temperatures and adjusting to a co-star’s sudden change in circumstances.
Mark L. Smith adapted Lily Brooks-Dalton’s novel Good Morning, Midnight. Producers are Grant Heslov, Clooney, Keith Redmon, Bard Dorros and Cliff Roberts.

OMG! In that teaser he looks like Santa the morning after a rough night!

I'm starting to get interested in this. I wish they'd set a release date. Maybe when the trailer drops.
