It's the color of the season, dominating catwalks and high streets alike.
And Amal Clooney put an elegant spin on fashion's current fixation with rust, wearing the color head to toe in New York on Monday.
The high-flying barrister turned the popular fall trend into the perfect working outfit, teaming a short sleeved blouse with a midlength skirt.

The Beirut-born Briton, who has represented such figures as Julian Assange and ex-Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymoshenko, completed her look with a smart suede handbag and carried a camel coloured coat over one arm.

Amal is the UK Foreign Office's special envoy on media freedom, and addressed the UN just last month on the dangers faced by journalists around the globe.


She described the dangers many face as they attempt to simply do their jobs.
'Our research targets laws being used every day to punish journalists for their work,' Amal told the UN.
'Laws like criminal libel, vague or overboard hate speech laws, so-called fake news laws, and laws that muzzle the media by imposing arbitrary conditions on ownership, accreditation and funding.'

Amal is known for her work in international law and was honored earlier this month at the ASIL gala at The Frick Collection, an art museum on the Upper East Side.
Earlier this month she also appeared on the show 60 Minutes alongside last year's Nobel Peace Prize winner Nadia Murad - who escaped ISIS after being raped and beaten.
On the show Amal called on ISIS to see the inside of a courtroom and compared the world's reaction to crimes against Yazidis to that of 'after the atrocities of Nazi Germany'.
Fresh from her appearance addressing high-level officials from 20 countries at the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York last month, Clooney reiterated why the terrorist group must go on trial.
'This was the same dilemma that the world had after the atrocities of Nazi Germany,' Clooney said.

Aside from her work, Amal is married to Hollywood actor George Clooney, with the power couple sharing two-year-old twins Ella and Alexander.
Amal told Vogue last year about how she manages 'quality time' amid her work schedule.
'Between six and eight in the morning we get to have them in our bed - I don't schedule any calls before eight,' Amal explained.
The duo celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last month and were joined out to dinner in New York by their pals Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.
