Alexander Clooney is the oldest child born to George and Amal Clooney. His twin sister, Ella, was born exactly two minutes after him on June 6.

 According to birth certificates obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Alexander was born at 12:54 PM, while his younger sister was born at 12:56 PM.

 Earlier this month; the couple was spotted carrying the newborns covered in matching bassinets off a private jet in Milan, Italy, on July 5.

Don't think it's caesarean. Amal was able to sit up on her bed, hold two babies and do a video chat with Nick&Nina. 
A patient with caesarean surgery just can't recover so quickly.

I did read somewhere else that she delivered by scheduled C-section. If that's the case, there could be reasons having to do with the babies' positioning, or cord problems, or idiosyncratic anatomy, etc that would keep the second twin 'inside' for a bit after the first one.

And it's possible to do C-sections with spinal anesthesia, so she would have been awake and able to hold the babies sooner than if it was done under general anesthesia.

... All of which is just didactic speculation, and none of which makes an iota of difference to anyone last-named Clooney.

OR, the surrogates had the babies and Amal was in hair and make-up waiting for the babies to come to her for their Skype premiere?  Just speculating...

Poor Ella will have to live with hearing from Alex I'm the oldest.

When I was pregnant with my twins, my husband (who's a registrar) said that he always knows if it was a ceesarean or not because he knows the exact times of when they were born. My gynaecologist then told me that it's possible to have twins born naturally within one minute, so that's no prove of a caesarean.

So both is possible and also plausible.

However, she had them i'm sure the most important thing is they are healthy.
Babies tend to come out when they want and some faster than the doctor's think they will.

And Amal has spent the past month working on her post-babies body (she has an actual butt now, plus the tummy) to sell the story...? That would be commitment of major proportions.

I had three c-sections. You can absolutely sit up with the support of the bed that adjusts.  Not to mention you are on medication to manage the pain just after surgery.  I have great photos of me holding the babies right after I was sent to my room.  I would say within an hour.  In fact, now that I think about it, I wasn't flat on my back at all.  I was propped up.  And they get you up within 12 hours of a c-section in the US at least to sit in a chair and take a few steps. Plus if you nurse you can't do that flat on your back
