I just watched the video and am in tears now.
My son had a lot different heart disease which hadn't caused any problems if he also wasn't born very premature. So he needed a surgery as well but since you can usually cure this disease with medicines, it's very rare now. And there were only two specialists / surgeons in their clinic who were able to do this. One of them who was supposed to operate him, died due to a heart attack (at 45!) just days before, the other one had health issues. So there was nobody to help him, he needed this surgery to have at least a chance to survive, and he was in a too bad condition to be flown to to another clinic.
In the end they flew in a specialist from another clinic to to the surgery, his weight was about 2lbs. at that time, and his chances to survive this surgery were 50:50.
But he did!!!

By the way: this happened just five days ahead of 9/11...
