Her standout role for me was 'Ordinary People'.  I remember George saying a few years back that he was a big admirer of Mary Tyler Moore and her work.

Yes Donnamarie I agree with you, especially your comment about
Ordinary People. She had a very hard role to play and she carried
it off brilliantly. I could feel her hidden pain.
I can recommend that film about a family in crisis 100%.

Her co star.....dear Donald Sutherland.....was brilliant too. I've always
had a soft spot for him.

We've been watching his recent role in Crossing Lines on Amazon Prime.
He's still got that "certain something" and looks good with his thick gorgeous
grey hair and lovely voice.   Give Flowers

Is it my imagination or was there a rumor floating around a few days ago that Hollywood should go on strike for a month to protest Trump? And was George's name attached to this? Seems to me I saw it somewhere once, but haven't seen it since.

it's me, agree.  Too much for Hollywood to sacrifice.  Even for such a noble cause!

So great to hear from you Joanna.  I just watched 'Ordinary People' again over the weekend.  The acting in this movie for lack of a better word was 'real'.  Not a false note in this film.  Mary was not necessarily a likeable person in this role but she was so authentic that the viewer could relate.  That scene when her son hugs her and she can't hug him back was as good a scene as any director can ask for.  Mary played it perfectly.

Donald Sutherland does have one of those unmistakable and commanding voices ... like someone else we all know!  Hmmmmm I love you

Donnamarie - Thanks. The article you found is describing the one I saw. I didn't think it could possibly be true. IMO it is such an arrogant, self-important, out-of-touch-with-reality move that the idea could only have come from the Trump camp because that's the way they think. George is much too smart to think an industry-wide strike would do anything but give Trump ammunition for his delusions.
