Yes annemarie. I just got around to reading it. Sounds like George is very happy and fulfilled.

Re: March 2016 Chit Chat
Way2Old - You're right. The project does have an excellent pedigree, and I'm glad Soderbergh is connected to it (although I'm still ticked off at him for the screw-ups in Ocean's 11). I agree with everything you said - especially the last sentence - and especially if it's an all-female cast. Although, if that's the case, George would only be a producer or maybe do a cameo, so he might not get the blame for it if it turns out to be a disaster. I can't help it. I think this is a really bad idea. They waited much too long. (Just thought of something. What do you want to bet Melissa McCarthy will be in it?)Way2Old4Dis wrote:Yes, this is happening, people.
George and Grant are producing, along with Steven Soderbergh. The guy who did 'The Hunger Games,' 'Seabiscuit,' and 'Pleasantville' is directing.
So the project has an excellent pedigree. And I actually don't have an objection to a final 'Ocean's' movie. I just think it should have happened years ago, and should have been an undeniable we're-never-doing-this-again-so-let's-do-it-right blowout. I even had a concept in mind for how I would do it.
And let's all remember that Matt Damon's career was dead in the water for a while, and he's back with a vengeance. I wouldn't write George off so quickly.
Still, I'm not a fan of this idea. It could go terribly, awfully wrong in so many ways.

Lizzy. I was thinking the very same thing. Melissa McCarthy. I was wondering who else they would cast with Sandra. And Melissa was my first thought. She and Sandra are best friends too. But like you I have serious reservations about this "remake". Please let there be a clever script for this movie. PLEASE!

Thank you PigPen for the post. I was always a fan of Patty Duke. I will never forget her performance in The Miracle Worker. I loved that movie. And I watched The Patty Duke Show every week as a little girl. Such a good actress. I will miss her.
