George Clooney: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)

George Clooney may not be in your top 10 heartthrobs anymore, but nobody can deny that the man, now 54 years old, still has some serious sex appeal. The Ocean’s 11 actor may be married, but that doesn’t stop women everywhere from trying to learn as much about the star as they can. Here, we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about George Clooney. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
Number Fifteen: He Has an Interesting Connection to Mad Men. Clooney was married to first wife Talia Balsam between 1989 and 1993. However, Balsam is now married to John Slattery. Slattery plays the character named Roger Sterling on Mad Men! Balsam played the character of Slattery’s wife, Mona.
Number Fourteen: He Originally Wanted to Play in the MLB. Clooney tried out to be part of the Cincinnati Reds in 1977. However, to his dismay, he was not offered a contract. This clearly turned out to be a good thing for everyone else!
Number Thirteen: He Is Housemates With Cindy Crawford. A compound in Mexico exists that belongs to Clooney, Cindy Crawford, and Cindy’s husband, Rande Gerber. The two separate homes are joined by several communal living spaces. To see pictures of the compound, just look up its feature in Architectural Digest!
Number Twelve: He Has a Connection to Abe Lincoln. Clooney has had fame in his blood for a long time, because he is actually a distant relative of former president Abraham Lincoln. The two are connected via Lucy Hanks, Lincoln’s maternal grandmother. This makes Clooney Lincoln’s half-first cousin five times removed.
Number Eleven: He Likes Pigs. In fact, Clooney likes pigs so much that he even kept one as a pet! His pet potbellied pig was named Max. Max belonged to Clooney for a whole 18 years before he unfortunately died in 2006.
Number Ten: He’s a Southern Boy. Clooney is actually from Lexington, Kentucky! Well, he was born in Lexington, and later he moved to Augusta, Kentucky. He went to high school in Augusta.
Number Nine: He Is a College Dropout. Clooney attended two colleges, but he didn’t graduate from either! The two colleges are the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University.
