Triple date! George and Amal Clooney enjoy dinner with famous friends Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and their significant others





Apparently George and Amal didn't get the memo when it came to the dress code. 

The power couple ate and later 'partied' with Matt Damon and his spouse Luciana Barroso, and Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber at the posh Electric Cinema in Notting Hill on Saturday.

The gathering comes less than a week after George and Amal Clooney celebrated their first wedding anniversary on September 27.

Most in the group showed up in black or almost all black ensembles, whereas George and Amal opted for something slightly lighter. 

Amal, 37, did draw the most glances however, thanks to her short brilliant red trench coat and eye catching, multicolored floral dress.

She chose some simple black leggings and some black pumps to really help set off the colors.

George, 54, kept it even simpler, opting for some jeans, brown suede oxfords and a classic black leather jacket.

Black on black: The 49-year-old supermodel went with some basic black slacks that were still slim enough to reveal her famously taut figure


Cindy also kept things relatively demure, though she still pulled off an exceedingly elegant look in all black.

Her sleek brown locks were down, and just barely hid some sizable gold hoop earrings. 

Husband Rande Gerber, 53, matched his better-half, going with some slacks, black leather shoes, a satiny dark blue button down and black suede coat.

Luciana sported some black ankle-high boots, black tights, and a black long sleeved top. She did break up the darkness with a short skirt with grey floral print and some distinctive tan, four-piece earrings.

While it's not clear if there was a particular reason for all the couples to come together on Saturday, it may just have been to catch up. 





George and Matt are longtime friends who've starred in many movies together, the most recent being last year's World War II drama The Monuments Men.

Meanwhile, while George and Cindy are also old friends - as evidenced by a recent Instagram photobomb by Clooney - George and Rande are co-investors in several ventures, including the Casamingos Tequila company.

It's of course no surprise that said liquor company just sponsored the launch party for Cindy's new memoir, Becoming, in London on Thursday.

George Clooney's A-list pals gathered for a fun and fashionable night out in London's Notting Hill neighborhood on Saturday night, just a week after he celebrated his first wedding anniversary with wife Amal Clooney.

The couple, joined by Matt Damon and his wife Luciana, and Rande Gerber and wife Cindy Crawford, were spotted leaving a restaurant on Portobello Road.

Amal was her usual fashionable self in a red jacket, floral dress and black tights, while supermodel Crawford and Luciana looked chic in all black.

The group was also spotted attending a private party at the Electric Cinema. 

"George was very attentive," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "He put a protective arm around Amal's shoulder as they walked [into the cinema]. It was the same on the way out.

"They were very affectionate to each other and George put his hand around her to make sure she was okay. They seemed very much in love."

Clooney, Gerber and Crawford celebrated the launch of their tequila brand Casamigos in the U.K. at a swanky party in London on Thursday. On Friday, Crawford signed copies of her memoir Becoming at a London bookstore.

Both Gerber and Crawford shared photos on Saturday of a countryside jaunt they took during the trip.

"And a Saturday stroll in the country," wrote Crawford, sharing a photo of lush gardens and a pond. 


The star also shared a photo boarding a plane (with her book in tow) on Sunday, and wrote "Next stop: Miami!"

Matt was in London this weekend with Luciana and on Saturday night, they had dinner and partied in Notting Hill afterwards with Amal and George Clooney and Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. Speaking of Amal, she was back out today in London to attend a press conference with Laila Ali, wife of Mohamed Nasheed, former president of the Maldives. Amal was in the Maldives a few weeks ago to meet with Nasheed under dangerous circumstances. Just prior to her arrival, her co-counsel Mahfooz Saeed was attacked by four masked men and ended up getting stabbed. We are not Amal Clooney. Because, you know, if I married George Clooney I’d live on easy street, and the only reason I’d go to the Maldives is for HOLIDAY. We went there for our 10th wedding anniversary. The resorts there are insane.

Well, you'd definitely meet his security team and if George presses charges you could hire Amal to defend you. How could she turn down a case of the basic human right of all women to sneak up on her husband in the toilet?

I think Amal looks great even tho she doesn't seem to be participating in the group think dress code. I think that looking a bit different is fine as long as it's in the same style of what everyone else is wearing, and it was.

George and those dad jeans tho.... shaking my head... nope nope nope

George says he's a creature of habit and I think his wardrobe proves it. Armani tuxes and suits for when he has to dress like a grown-up and jeans, desert boots and tees for his everyday life.  (The jeans look so broken in they could be the same pair he wore when he moved from Kentucky to LA! )

I think the fact that he always looks comfortable in his own skin is what makes it all work for him, no matter what he wears.

I think she realized and was embarrassed my guess is George alerted her when he got into the car.

Yep. But honestly it was nothing in comparison with so many - and imagine how nice it would be to have his reassurance, love, etc etc.

I think he probably made her feel better that is just the kind of husband he is.

So it does make a difference which photos a magazine chooses to 'create' a certain impression. After reading the DM article some her mentioned in the other thread that this wasn't a mistake because Amal didn't seem to be embarrassed. Well, when you watch the photos on OK magazine for instance you might get a slightly different impression...

The paps take dozens of pictures of one event and we see only a few most of which don't show the whole story. People assume that everything they see is what happened in an instance and that is not always the case.

The daily fail chooses pictures to make controversy when there really is none it sells the more clicks the better.

The publications that put the stories together can make it look whatever they want and if you don't see the other pics it's pretty easy to believe the story. 
I don't believe that Amal, a woman who obviously puts a lot of thought into how she looks, would want a picture taken of her looking so disheveled.

And if Amal wanted to look 'sexy' or 'naughty' I'm sure she wouldn't choose a weekend before an important press conference and interviews...
I don't buy these thoughts anyway. She doesn't need to look like this to the public - if she wants to it's important to look naughty and sexy to George - and I'm sure she knows how to do it...

It's fortunate that George wasn't wearing his kilt that night otherwise the DM might have taken some really embarrassing photos of him.

Well, he had a banana in his pocket when he was at the book/tequila launch with Rande and Cindy.

George sure gets around. he is always going places working, & enjoying life. He never stays home much and is  out in public all the time. I would love to work with him again, and his has such a sense of humor and so fun to be around. He lights up my day and night. love you george. bg
