I think that is the hat she wore with a white coat in London when she and George met up with Stella McCartney and her husband for dinner.

She should be wearing her white gloves to keep her hands warm.

While George Clooney has dubbed her the brainy one in their marriage, it appears that Amal Clooney is also the one leading the way when it comes to glamour and style.
The stunning human rights lawyer turned heads as she stepped out in black leather leggings and a cream tunic during a night on the town in New York City on Friday.
With a stylish black knitted hat perched atop her voluminous dark tresses, the 37-year-old beauty teamed her ensemble with a pair of black suede booties and a leopard-print handbag.

Amal will be a senior fellow with the Law School's Human Rights Institute, as well as a senior fellow with the Law School's Human Rights Institute.

Can you imagine the packing and shipping she must have done for this stay in NYC? The handbags alone require major logistics.

I'm wondering whether she isn't getting some of this loaned to her. I mean, we've seen her in how many different winter coats this last week? Not casting aspersions: it's what most celebrities do too.

I reckon she keeps wardrobes of stuff in all their houses and adds the odd piece for each occasion.

I asked this in the thread about Amal and George having dinner at Kappo Masa but no one answered it!  I said there that she received clothes from Giambattista Valli that aren't even in stores yet (said the article). I think she gets them as a gift, not a loan. Or they send it to her and she pays for it later. A loan would maybe be more for TV appearances and galas if you're a celebrity, I think.

I think she probably shops in each city they have homes in and will keep clothes there. I think she probably has boutiques send her things and she picks what she wants and pays for it. That photo is from Friday night she was out with her brother.

PAN, what dress are you referring to? With the Fashioncompassion pieces?  

I would think because NY has so many designer houses that she is bulking up her wardrobe while she is in the city.  Maybe she  is a special client at some of these houses and can get pieces before they're available in stores.  I can imagine many designers would love to get her business.  We really don't see her out actually shopping. Maybe she sets up appointments to view collections either at the hotel or their stores.  I'm just speculating.

Yes, she wears A LOT of Giambattista Valli and I too am under the impression that they are sending her free stuff. And it makes total sense too, that white Valli dress she wore the day after the wedding was seen EVERYWHERE, it was a ton of free publicity for Valli. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if Valli just sends her stuff as gifts now, hence why she has items that are not even in stores yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if other labels do the same.

Donnamarie, Fashioncompassion is more about accessories and jewellery from small organisations supporting workshops who employ victims of rape, fgm and violence. For instance, the bag she had with the yellow coat is from Sarah'sBag, a Lebanese company, the red necklace from the Tanzania trip was made by a Masai workshop etc, etc

Wonder if TJ Maxx has tried sending her anything.

Oh, and I don't think she's in the business of loans of dresses on the 'what are you wearing, give us a plug for the loan' game. Remember her description of how the Dior haute couture dress at the Globes came about.

But I do think she's probably being besieged (in advance of catwalks too) by any designer she has shown an interest it. They'd be silly not to, given the coverage she gets for them.

Who knows what the financial arrangements are. Neither party is likely to tell us. But maybe T J Maxx would be the exception!

Of course, they can spend their money however they want, but I'd hate to think that her actual wardrobe tab comes to what shows up on the 'news' pages. What she has in shoes alone could furnish a modest home. She's a walking advertisement for any designer, and the photographers and blogs do all the legwork for them, so I guess it would be silly for a designer to pass up the chance to have Amal 'modeling' their clothes.

But it's ironic that George's supersmart supersuccessful barrister wife has become more of a model than any of his model/actress/host girlfriends.
