"Roseanne" Seasons 3 and 4

"Roseanne," a popular blue collar TV series starring Roseanne Barr-Arnold and John Goodman, was one of the biggest hits of the '80s and early '90s. Mom, as head of the family, never failed to have a foul word for her children, yet the Conners, despite their sharp tongues, were a loving family. Chronically short of money, Roseanne and Dan seemed to work constantly, yet they never got ahead. In the beginning, Roseanne and her sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) worked at a plastics plant. They later launched their own business, a coffee shop and cafe. The Conners' daughter, Darlene, played by Sara Gilbert, was an especially interesting young character. George Clooney also had a recurring role in the first two seasons, but is not seen on these DVDs. Much of the writing is uneven and some of the episodes are downright odd, but Roseanne and Goodman created two interesting characters who will still make you laugh all these years later. They didn't have much class, but there was lots of love.
