How to Start New Topics

Hi all,

We all appreciate when COH posters find articles and share them here.  However, as mods we'd appreciate if you follow some guidelines.

1.  The title of the topic should be a title not full sentences from an article.  The title should describe the subject of the post.

For example:  "George Clooney Interview in Forbes Magazine Feb 23, 2014"

This describes what you're posting and the date help us to find the specific article later on.  We often have folks asking about an article that was posted several years earlier and noting the date in the title makes it easier to search for using the search function on this site.

2.  Please initial cap titles.  Please don't CAP THE ENTIRE TITLE

3.  Please provide a link to the article if you've cut and pasted it from a website.  We need to give appropriate credit where credit is due.

4. If you are posting a long article please use the PREVIEW button to see how it will look before you hit SEND.  That way you can more easily see what the article will look like before everyone else can see it.  If it needs paragraph breaks or other editing to make it more readable you can make those changes before everyone else can see it.

5.  Do not hot link photos.

6.  You Tube videos can be embedded using the YouTube button in the toolbar.  Click on the button then copy and paste the URL of the video into the insert box that pops up.  DO NOT USE THE EMBED CODE from YouTube.  You only need the URL.

7.  Photos with a url can also be embedded using the Insert Image button.  It looks like a picture frame with a small green plus sign at the right button of the icon.  Same as the YouTube - you only need to copy and paste the picture url.

As we've got a lot of new visitors to the site, I thought I'd bump this again.

Don't be shy about starting a new thread: just click on the 'new topic' button on the upper left of each page and go for it!

Is it just me, or did we lose our header and all our options, ie messages, etc.?

also the ability to edit a message, start a new thread, etc.

It's back now.  I must have had a glitch!  Thanks!

thank you, I used to love watching George in ER, I just happen to be 38 minutes away by taxi ( I don't drive) from where  he and his family live in the UK

how do I delete a post, I seem to have done 3 ( I only wanted 2 posts) can you help?

Bonita, I'm not sure you can delete a post after someone has responded to it. If you really want to pursue it, click on FAQ in the header. Katie has covered all kinds of things there, (she's amazing!) but honestly, I wouldn't bother. We've all done it. "Whoops! Sorry, guys." would cover it.

what is George's favourite food? I enjoy low fat dishes with pasta and rice, I am  half vegetarian too.
