How much does Jimmy Kimmel dislike Jay Leno?

The ABC late-night host won't be taking it easy when Leno bids farewell on "The Tonight Show" on Feb. 6.

Leno will have Billy Crystal and Garth Brooks.

For that night, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has lined up the star-studded cast of "The Monuments Men." The guests will be George Clooney, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Bob Balaban. ABC is billing Damon as "Kimmel's arch-enemy."

"The Monuments Men" opens Feb. 7. Another topic for discussion: Blanchett is the front-runner for the best-actress Oscar for "Blue Jasmine."

Kimmel, whose childhood hero was David Letterman, was a Conan O'Brien supporter and has complained that Leno sold out.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Leno said he doesn't get into public feuds with fellow comedians. "Rich people whining and complaining? Shut up," Leno said. "You make more money than 99 percent of the population and you're complaining and whining. My job is to go out there and be a comedian."

Kimmel isn't making the job easy on Leno's last night on NBC.

On Feb. 6, David Letterman will have Michael Keaton. The musical guests will be the Flaming Lips. Letterman is talking to "Monuments Men" stars earlier: Murray will visit Friday; Clooney is on Tuesday's show; and Damon stops by Feb. 5.

A lot of the shows do this It'sMe. The late night shows all record earlier in the day, but some do days in advance so as to get everyone they want and work around the star's schedules.

Don't know if this belongs here, but I just found a site called "interbridge.com/lineups html" that gives the dates and guest lineups for most of the tv talk shows. They not only list Matt and the whole cast of MM on Jimmy Kimmel on the 6th, but George on Letterman on the 4th, Daily Show on the 5th, and Kimmel AND Live with Kelly and Michael on the 6th. BUSY man. (Feel free to move this to another thread. I'm pretty sure its in the wrong place.)

Ok maybe stupid question but just want to make sure I understand it right. So the show is recorded and not live? Or is the show live but the interview with George and co is recorded and will be shown in the live show and George will not be in the live show?    I got a blond moment.

My guess in this instance is that it's a entire programme being recorded -seem to remember some tweeted pix from the audience somewhere on here - but I have a feeling Letterman would be the day of the Premiere, but earlier than the time it goes out, if that makes sense...........

They are not LIVE at their 10:30 p.m. time slot, they record in front of a live audience in the afternoon. If you remember an interview or two where George was heading somewhere (a premiere or when they got their hand/foot prints done at the theater) and he would say he had to get going. In this case for Kimmel, when they were all in LA for the junket, they pre-recorded their segment with Jimmy. Now, if Jimmy does his monologue and has other guests, they might record that the afternoon of the air date (2-6). Of course, Jimmy would probably wear the same suit for continuity. A lot of the daytime shows, like Ellen and Kelly/Michael, are sometimes shot the previous day.

I think Letterman shoots at 5:30 on Tuesdays, so they might shoot the episode that day and go from there to the premiere. They shoot twice on Mondays ( 4:30 and 7:30, I think), but that would mean the contest winners would have to be there the day before the premiere. I guess either way would work.

Can somebody correct the name in the title it says Kimmell but is only one L. I normally don't mind but if I enter Kimmel in the search option this thread doesn't come up because it spelled with two LL's. Thanks.
