I guess song nr 25 was chosen because of the early release in December they have originally planed. But I wonder with the new release if they couldn't have just delete that song? Funny.

‘The Monuments Men’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Music will release the official soundtrack album for George Clooney’s historical drama The Monuments Men. The soundtrack features the film’s original score composed by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Argo, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) who previously composed the music for Clooney’s The Ides of March. The soundtrack will be released on February 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Monuments Men stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville and John Goodman. Desplat also makes an appearance in the film, which follows an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. Maybe "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" figures into the film? Those who have read the book might know for sure, but since I imagine this effort took place over several years, there might be a scene or two that happens during Christmas?

You are right Missa....there is a part that talks about Christmas. I remember one MM getting presents from home etc and either the same one or another one thinking of his son at Christmas. Thanks for the link Nicky...

Missa, the book ends in November 1945, and then refers to things that happened a few weeks late to one particular character. I won't ruin in, but it's very sweet, and that is how I suspect they wrap the whole story up on film, altho there are loads of words in the book on the aftermath, as you can imagine. After all, it is all still going on..............

Oh wow great. So it does make sense then why the track is still on there. I can't wait to watch it. Thanks for not ruin it by expose the ending

I have listened some of it. Just can't listen too much. The movie hasn't been released in China so I have to avoid spoilers from soundtrack.

I have the soundtrack. Its amazing and I watched The Monuments Men yesterday and I loved it. Its not what you await after reading the book but its a "need to watch" movie. I'm not telling anything here, just George is typical George and all actors acted splendid, you go and watch it yourself. And all those negative critics   throw away those bricks.

Ha, actually I've downloaded the digital version of this soundtrack. Every movie, TV show or music stuff can be downloaded for free in this country. So they shared this soundtrack link...Don't blame me

Isn't this brilliant, Jo? Wonderful voice for a 16 year old. Really hope she gets a contract from this - Know that she's a friend's daughter and somewhere on here I think there might be a video of her with her dad on alto sax, singing at a picnic type event in LA.

Love the way His Nibs managed to get some Frank Sinatra into that scene too

(Laughs) Okay I understand.  My next question for you is I believe you are already attached to do George Clooney’s The Monuments Men?

Desplat: Yes.

So what is it about that project that made you want to be involved?

Desplat: I met George the first time on Syriana where he was acting and producing, and then there was Fantastic Mr. Fox and we met again.  Then he called me for Ides of March.  And the incredible thing with George he was raised—you know his aunt [was Rosemary Clooney]—in a very musical environment so he loves music.  He loves music in films and he likes my music very much, so…(laughs).  And he’s a great director, a great person to be with.  So I will do all his movies from now on unless he changes his mind.
