Perhaps you are being given the time to "review your situation" dear Michelle... Sometimes we don't necessarily ask the right persons the right questions to finally strike on the right answer bulls-eye, na? And so we hear the silence...
Wait and pray over it if you are not certain about/with the truth, before you take your FINAL call la...
Yup... House rules... we might have to take this further inside the kitchen I guess...?

I have to say, I was kinda surprised in The Descendants, that he carried Shailene up the stairs. Couldn't have been easy if he has chronic back pain..

I have been review and reviewing, etc etc etc , believe me! Although, you are very right about talking to the right person, the right questions to get the right answer. i found someone a long time ago who was the most helpful but, then I moved and he was too far after that. then i found someone else who's just not helpful at all. of all people to finally give some real help was one of my facebook friends. lately, twice in a few weeks she has been very helpful ... go figure.
I haven't gotten to the right bulls eye yet but sometimes it feels ( excuse the cheese alert) like the right answers are blowing in the wind and stop listening to all the negativity around me along with the silence you mentioned and that is why I get so distressed. When i try for help it's just negativity back at me.
I feel like the tide is turning though
Thank you for your help.

Re: George Clooney's neck/brain injury from 2005
Just wanted to send the biggest warmest big sis hug to George, Michelle and anyone else (next mrs clooney? ) that has constant daily pain. I had cervical spinal surgery a few years ago and 2 sets of docs said I was lucky to be walking. the pain was TERRIBLE. I know what that kind of daily pain is like i know what vicodin, muscle relaxers are like...
y'all are true heroes. (our george included) *claps* *steps off soapbox**
I hope there is some way they can stop & resolve george's pain and whatever causes it.

Oh crap. Forgot something. Syriana is one of the few George Clooney movies that I just can not watch. It has nothing to do with his injury more the scene where the thumb is cut off. just a brutal movie.
i can't watch it. *shudder*

Hi Michelle - I don't know when your birthday is but I hope you have a nice one. You know what they say, when the going gets tough the tough get going. Hang in there. I hope you're not depressed, when things don't go right for me I just get mad. As the old saying goes it's better to be pissed off than pissed on. LOL

I think he's in good shape and looks a lot better than when he's skinny which just makes him look ill.

Re: George Clooney's neck/brain injury from 2005
George needs to see a good physical therapist, along with possibly a good acupuncturist. Once he gets to the root of the pain problem, the pain will take care of itself. I know this from personal experience. A good chiroprator who practices holistic medicine will also be a good measure.

I tried getting mad and that is just wasted energy and i get tired from being angry half the day.
Anyway, I feel great NOW! last night my parents came to dinner and I mentioned on here two and a half weeks ago that I can fit back into my prom dress... WELL.. We pulled out my camera and i put on my dress and took a few photos of me in it and I felt wonderful after that. I AM looking forward to my birthday now... I am going to be 43 years old and i got comments from my facebook I look more like 34. Actually I am used to it. Some people think i look 28 in the summer when i am in my shorts or sundresses
My birthday is March 7. It should be in my profile, I think

Re: George Clooney's neck/brain injury from 2005
There are some things that an acurpunctionist or a chiropractor can't fix. He is in pain management and if his Dr. thought that either of those avenues would do him good, I'm sure he'd have sent him on that path. He says he has learned to live with the pain, and does the best he can. I'm sure his "line of work" causes him a lot of his pain problems. As he has stated, his headaches are Positional, being on his feet too long, or sitting upright too long. As a director, he is standing for very long periods of time. As a writer,he is sitting for very long periods of time. While acting, his actions probably don't cause him too much trouble as scenes, if done right, don't really have to last too long. I'm sure all the awards galas, Q & A sessions, and interviews cause a great deal of havoc, and maybe that is why we seem to see him in pain at times. Maybe those times that some people accuse him of being drunk are some of those times. When someone has a very severe headache, little things like the strobe-like flashes of paps' cameras, can cause increased pain during which keeping one's eyes open wide would be just about impossible. Good and yes!
Speaking of, this blurb just popped up on twitter (although the original date looks to be in January, but what I noted was the update they provided:
5:20 PM PT: George’s rep now tells us the actor was kidding when he said he needed more surgery. Let’s hope so. Surgery sucks.
Read the whole thing here:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
George Clooney is still a broken man … but TMZ has learned he’ll be heading back to the hospital for ANOTHER elbow operation … so he can return to banging Stacy Kiebler at full strength.
It was only two months ago that Clooney posed for a photo
at the Ravens game in November — sporting some kind of space-age elbow
brace. His rep had told us, he had recently undergone a procedure to
fix something in his arm joint.
It’s unclear exactly what’s wrong — but it’s not better yet … because
last night in NYC, George left the Carlyle Hotel, claiming he still had
“a little more surgery” left.

GEORGE CLOONEY OLD INJURY
This is an old interview I have more on his injury just need to find them.
There NO LINK because this came from my files.
GEORGE CLOONEY OLD INJURY
Sunday Mirror,
By Flavia Bertolini
Nov 6, 2005
George Clooney has had his share of hanging round hospitals, but to be fair, he was pretending to be saintly pediatrician Doug Ross in ER at the time. However, recently, the grey-haired god has had a more serious brush with ill health.
George famously had to grow an unsightly shaggy beard and put on 2st 10lb for his role as CIA agent Robert Barnes in the movie Syriana, which he made in Morocco at the end of last year. The movie opens in Britain in Jan 2006, and it was during filming of the political thriller that George had an accident which led him to fear for his life.
During a torture scene in which two thugs beat him up, George was strapped to a chair when it was unintentionally kicked over and he fell backwards, hitting his head and tearing his dura the sac of fluid which surrounds the brain and spinal chord.
The actor, 44, was so badly hurt, the brain fluid began leaking out of his nose. I was scared, I thought I was having a stroke, as my family has a history of strokes, George explains.
After the incident, he was in terrible pain and went to see a doctor, but was sent away and told he just had a headache. It was like an ice- cream brain freeze 24 hours a day, but I understand what they were thinking, Oh, he is an actor, he is just being dramatic, George says. But over the following weeks, the pain intensified, so he got on a plane to see a specialist in LA, where he was diagnosed with a ruptured dura and had emergency surgery to stop the leak.
George soldiered on and, though his condition worsened, he attended the premiere of Oceans Twelve in December despite being in so much pain he could barely walk. Just a few days after that, he underwent complicated surgery in which doctors pinned his spine back together with plastic bolts.
George, who split from lover Lisa Snowdon earlier this year, says, It was the most unbearable pain I've ever been through... I basically bruised my brain. It was bouncing around in my head because its not supported by the spinal fluid.
To make matters worse, George has been unable to use conventional pain relief. He explains, I dont take painkillers because weve had members of our family whove become very fond of them over the years. Instead, George opted for therapy that teaches him to ignore the pain.
After having to wear a neck brace for a while, George is left to cope with the short-term memory loss caused by the accident. I have to work the memory muscle by counting everything, like how many times I pedal when I am on a bike. He also sticks Post-It notes everywhere to remind him whats going on.
Its been a terrible year for George. His brother-in-law died of a heart attack at 45, his grandmother died in the summer, and his dog was killed by a rattlesnake. But the heart-throb has come through what hes called the worst year personally I’ve ever had and is back at work, filming The Good German with Cate Blanchett. He also promises his fans he will make a full recovery, saying, I'll whip it... Its not permanent. Its a bruised brain. Its OK, its going to be fine.
We hope so...

Re: George Clooney's neck/brain injury from 2005
Maybe he had surgery on the dura matter of the spinal chord. But not in the brain region; neck perhaps.
His own Achilles Heel.
I wonder how many nurses volunteered to give him sponge baths?
At least he fully recovered and is well.
So, the "grey-haired god" (as described in the article) required mortal surgery.......where he was diagnosed with a ruptured dura and had emergency surgery to stop the leak.
His own Achilles Heel.

At least he fully recovered and is well.

Re: George Clooney's neck/brain injury from 2005
It was considered Brain Surgery. The Dura leak was at the very top of the spinal column in the brain area. That is the reason for all the violent headaches which he still gets but not as in the beginning. Your nervous system goes through the spinal column which in turn can affect other parts of the body.
