Introducing our new moderators

Hi everyone

I'm very proud to introduce our moderators for this forum: Watching, LornaDoone and TheMinis. These three lovely ladies will be on hand to help out when I'm not around and generally keep an eye on things when they have a moment.

Much of the time they'll be helping bring off-topic conversations gently back into line and re-uniting duplicate threads and separating two different conversations on the same thread and stuff.

I hope you'll give them a warm welcome in their dual roles as regular posters and also moderators.

Never tasted it. Sounds interesting.

It is sort reminds me of a Bailey's but more chocolatey. I am not a sweet wine drinker normally but it doesn't seem that sweet to me. Very much a dessert wine. Nice for special occasions---or a girls night, which is when I had it.

Now that I've seen it, if I cannot find it here in OZ will be so upset, or resort to dipping chocolate bars in Baileys.

Bribes? How about "The Next GF Of Title" or "The One"? Congrats ladies.

Yes thank you to the new mods for taking it on the chin and "cleaning up the aisle"...it really was beginning to "smell bad" in here from all the garbage spewed around! LOL

There has been so much activity that Im learning all sorts of new skills daily - loving it. xx

Good choice for moderators Katie. There are other really good people in here if you need to expand even more (not talking about me)

I think your moderators need to learn the forum rules and stop attacking others on the site. They should lead by example and not the mentality of do what I say not what I do. Also they should not be abusing their powers as moderators by accessing people's info for no reason other than to attack a poster. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

TNMC - I have never accessed yours or anyone's information. I was being cheeky in suggesting you get email alerts, I have no idea whether you do or don't.

Oh, get over yourself TNMC. The moderators can't access your info, Only I can and I don't bother. You were asked to stop being abusive to other posters, calling them names.

You should also pay attention to the house rules. It says that no one forces you to post here. If you don't like it, then fine, don't come here. It really is that simple.

Maybe you should pay attention to your own rules. You are so unbelievably rude to protect your favorites on this site. You once private messaged me and asked me how you could stop the problems on your forum because of other people being abusive well my recommendation is that you lead by example. And for the record I have never been abusive to people on this forum and your email to me agreed that the other poster was the problem. Maybe start applying some of your PR skills here on this forum instead of being rude and condescending and hypocritical!!!!

And I never called anyone names. My comments were about their posts not about them. There is a difference. No wonder everyone leaves this forum. I am beginning to think all the rumors about you are true!

I'm beginning to hope George or Stan does pay you guys. You deserve some compensation for what you go through. Thanks for moderating this board.

Never mind Katie and mods.....most of us are happy coming here and pleased to have happy chats with other happy George fans !

I'd like to make some comments here.

I'm hoping those who post here on a regular basis will take my comments as they are intended, specifically to ask you to put yourself in my shoes to see what I and the other mods and katiedot have to go through to keep this site running.

I started coming to this site after the Cookie Aisle blew up with the nutters.

Seems everything was going well but then every once in a while there are issues where folks seem to get upset over the rules that are part of this site.

So I'm asking you to put yourself in my shoes, in the other mods shoes and in katiedots shoes.

See you don't see the PMs we get from posters who get upset when every thread starts to go off topic and begins to be about the women, past present and potential future in George's life.

You don't get the PMs where posters are upset about someone being abusive toward them and are expecting us to do something about it.

You also don't have to try to keep posters who are fighting amongst themselves and making nasty comments back and forth (that makes you wonder if you're really dealing with adults or petulant spoiled children) from turning this site into a constant battlefield.

I know why katiedot does it, because it's her site and she has ultimate responsibility for the site.

I don't know why theminis does it but I'm going to guess it's the same reason as I - we really are fans of George, for the most part we really enjoy coming here and interacting with people from all over the world and personally, I know that every time I come here, I learn something new about George, or current events or something about you, your homes and your countries.

But some days it's really difficult to do this because some of you make it difficult.

Some of you take comments we make generally, just trying to keep the site organized, and you take it personally and then lash out.

Some of you take comments we make, again to try to keep things on track, as a challenge to some "right" that you think you possess when you come to post here (or I guess anywhere) and them make nasty or snide comments in return.

Some of you have the mistaken idea that any of the mods get paid to do this.  BELIEVE ME WE DON'T but sometimes I wish I were paid because the skills I have to use to try to diffuse fights and arguments are skills that people in counseling and human resources are highly paid for.

So the next time we make a comment about keeping something on topic - don't take it personally and decide you want to attack us.  Just be an adult and put yourselves in our shoes and ask if you really want to make it more difficult for us and everyone else to enjoy coming to this site.

You moderators do a great job. I couldn't do it better.
And if you moderators get a hard time from someone then don't take it personally. The rules are clear and if you keep us back on track by being off topic then I say you do your job. So thank you.

That's why I like coming here. I wished I would have found that forum many years ago but somehow never came across it. Enjoy it very much. And you moderators make it very pleasant

Lorna thank you on behalf of myself as a poster and a mod on the forum for your thoughts/explanations above and the time you take to keep things on track, very much appreciated by myself and no doubt many others.

I totally concur with your concerns/frustrations and hopefully what you have highlighted above will give some pause for thought.

Nicky - yep I too wish I found this site earlier than I did, but glad that I found it eventually !!

Popping in the thank the moderators and Katiedot once again. The Sisyphean task of rolling the forum back up to high ground just to watch it come tumbling down again, often degenerating into squabbling or name calling, using donated time and hours of effort is frustrating enough work without being thankless.
