Ah, tell me about it! I actually don't own furniture. I bought my first bed four years ago when I was in Hong Kong and as far as I know it's still there.

I've lost track of how many mattresses, kettles, cutlery and other various items I've acquired and then donated to various landlords around the world over the years.

Welcome to Black Friday. Only in America do people trample on each other to buy things they were grateful to have on Thursday.

I'll NEVER drive on Black Friday again, never, People are in such a hurry today they're honking their horns, cursing each other and making obcene gestures at anyone who who gets in their way. It's like a death wish to drive on the highway,.....

Is Black Friday when there are one off sales in shops? I remember seeing something about it on the news here when years ago people were hurt, am I correct?

There are a few ways to look at Black Friday.....I worked in a store for many years so Black Friday to me and my coworkers just meant to us that it was the start of the busiest time of year. Some would say nightmare time

But actually it is a day for retailers to go from being in the "red" to being in the "black" --financially speaking---in other words turn a profit.

Hi yes, you may have read about the people that were trampled trying to get into Wal Mart. I think some employees were injured too. Silly me - I'm hoping retailers can make some good sales, but this day is not for the faint of heart. LOL

Thanks - we have a similar sale here beginning of July, people sleep outside the night before and then thousands try and cram through the doors to be the first to get to the really good bargains, people have been hurt. Business strategies have changed a lot since, sales all year long and now retailers are trying to be competitive with online stores. I had seen Black Friday on the View and it looked very frightening, think it was Walmart.

I'm a little cranky today - trying to get over a huge fight with my ex and family on Thanksgiving day when I overheard a remarkably false and stupid comment he said about me. I'm basically a laid back person but when I get pissed off - watch out.

We should not be in the same room, house or world together.
