Ben Affleck talks about George Clooney

"I have some really wonderful friends, I know I'm really lucky," he gushed.

"I've gotten to know George Clooney better on this movie [he produced Argo] and never met anybody as smart about Hollywood as George. And Matt [Damon] has moved back to LA and lives down the street from me, so now I see him all the time, bringing the kids back and forth with our wives there too."

Successful actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends since growing up within a few blocks of each other, and have frequently created films together. With Affleck now starring alongside George Clooney in the new thriller Argo, he joked about how Damon was taking it.

"Matt's hurting, but you know how it is: You have to just do a lot of careful stroking and he'll come back around," said Affleck, who revealed that he had met Clooney through the Ocean's Eleven crew, which included Damon in addition to Affleck's brother, Casey.

Ben Affleck on 'Argo': George Clooney Had My Back

Director and actor Ben Affleck was in good company at the “Argo” premiere with his producer and friend George Clooney.

The Hollywood A-listers teamed up for the political thriller, and Ben “highly recommends” working with his fellow Oscar winner.

Affleck told “Extra’s” Ben Lyons, “I highly recommend working with George Clooney if you get the chance… being a filmmaker, having guys that have made movies, great movies, say, ‘Hey, we want to protect you’ -- that means the world to me.”
