Re: SYRIANA: Official film Trailer
Great trailer. Such an intense film. Ironically, just today I was sorting through old magazines and found a Hollywood Reporter from 2005 featuring WB's Oscar Campaign ad for George on the cover. I had saved it because Christopher Plummer is in the film and he's one of my all time favorites.
Glad I saved it though, because G deserved that Oscar.

Re: SYRIANA: Official film Trailer
I watched the Syriana CD just now and, I made the mistake of watching the torture scene and wouldn't recommend it for the faint of heart or stomach. Bad enough they were tearing Bob Baer's fingernails off but when I saw him fall from the chair I wanted to vomit. It's got a nice storyline (I think) but I would rather not see it again. JMO

Re: SYRIANA: Official film Trailer
Wasn't that Jennifer Ehle who played Bob Barnes' wife and then George cast her as his wife in The Ides of March. I remember him in an interview that he felt so bad cutting her and sent her a hand-written note apologizing.

wasn't Greta Scacchi, the wife 'erased' on Syriana?

Re: SYRIANA: Official film Trailer
Quote from a George Clooney biography....
"Interestingly, in both Syriana and Michael Clayton, Clooney's characters both had partners - played by Greta Scacchi
and Jennifer Ehle respectively - who would be cut from the films to increase Clooney's dislikeability and peril.
He didn't want his characters to be seen to be loved, and he didn't want them to have a happy life to fall back on."

Greta Scacchi...she's gorgeous. Played a big part in White Mischief with Charles Dance. Very good erotic film, based on a true story !

NO PAIN, NO GAIN: Actors Who Have Undergone Extreme Body Changes For Films
Kirsten Acuna | Jul. 3, 2012,
Anne Hathaway shaved her head and dropped 16 pounds on a detox diet for upcoming film "Les Miserables."
"This diet makes me break out, so I love that," Hathaway joked to Allure. "Nothing like living on hummus and radishes and then be all, 'And I got a pimple. Yeah!'"
The actress also told "Chelsea Lately" she became a vegetarian for "The Dark Knight Rises," living off of kale and dust for training.
And "Ted" star Mark Wahlberg recently revealed to E! he was eating nonstop to gain weight for his new movie, appropriately titled, "Pain and Gain."
"I was eating 10 meals a day and drinking mass gainers," said Wahlberg. "I was drinking my own. I created this line of supplements with GNC."
Talk about excessive. However, Hathaway and Wahlberg aren't the only celebrities who have undergone extreme measures to gain and lose weight for a role.
Plenty of stars have endured grueling diets and workouts to be in tip top shape for their roles as superheroes, ballerinas, boxers and more.
George Clooney gained more than 30 pounds for his role in "Syriana."
George Clooney didn't enjoy packing on the pounds for his role as a CIA operative in 2005's "Syriana."
"There was nothing fun about it," said Clooney. "There was not a moment that was fun about shooting this film. That's not a slap on the film or (the director Stephen) Gaghan. It's just that everybody has that year where you age a decade and this was that one for me."
Co-star Matt Damon even said Clooney was so distraught with his inability to exercise he became depressed.
Afterward, the actor dramatically lost the weight and more for his role in "Michael Clayton." Clooney lost so much weight that his publicist was forced to announce the star wasn't ill.

Re: SYRIANA: Official film Trailer
I'm sort of confused... are they saying he lost all the weigh for M. Clayton ? 'cos he didn't, he's still a little chubby in it (to me). I might be wrong but I sort of remember some interview or another where they said that actually Tony Gilroy advised him not to loose too much weight(for the part anyway) because it fits better the character.
when he lost "too much" was around the ocean's 12 promo. Melbert, don't know whether he weights more today or then, but to me today he looks much healthier thin than then...

Yes Macs, he definitely looks better than he did in Syriana. He still looked bitchin', but there was so much about Syriana with the weight gain and the injury. I just hope he's healthy now.
