Yes, they are wonderful people. I am proud to have seen the Clooney phenomenon from the beginning.

it's me, they weren't complete strangers. Nick was tasked with being her escort at all the different outings she had as a beauty contestant for the Miss Lexington contest. There are usually a lot of glad-handing outings before the actual contest, so there was plenty of time for them to get to know each other.

What a wonderful interview! I enjoy listening to them and his mom is a hoot!! Soooo funny!!!

I don't think Nick was a total stranger. Can't remember the exact timeline (maybe one of the old hands can jump in here?) but I think they'd been dating for a few months already.

Katiedot - I believe Nick has stated that they knew each other about a week when he asked her to marry him. Unless that's been urban legend and we've all just accepted it as fact.

Lorna, I know I read or heard 3 weeks from meeting to asking. Then they got married just 11 days before her 20th birthday. It was not a very long courtship and look how it's lasted!!!

Yes, and Ada was born nine months later, and George twelve months and four days later. So, Ada's birthday is May 2. Poor Nina, what a hurricane year for her: Beauty pageant runner-up, short courtship, wedding, and motherhood all in a bit less than a year.

Thanks Lorna and MM. Poor Nina! Fell in love, married and pregnant in under one year! And we say George is impulsive???!

Yes, "that" question ( like you said Joanna) was totally out of place.
They were invited to their home and received a nice friendly reception. And instead of showing an appreciation, 11NEWS asked a "gossip style" question.
What kind of answer did they expect??
They were lucky that Nina and Nick have a lot of class.

And her face spoke volumes didn't it ? Nick made a joke of it but "Momma Has Spoken"

I didn't have a chance to watch the video, but was Spags really there?!?! That dog must be thirty years old by now!

I think I read once that Spags had passed away and that N & N had gotten another dog.
Can't remember where I read it though.
