Why do men like G seem to prefer "bad" girls?

There have been many discussions both here an on the internet detailing SK's racy past. There are also provocative pics of her and now I realize of most of his ex's. Some have suggested that is because he does not intend to get emotionally involved with his flings. I welcome your comments in trying to understand men in general, and G in particular.

In answer to your question, I pretty much am the last person on earth who can understand men in general, but in George's case... What you mentioned about the intention of NOT getting emotionally involved with his flings is my first choice. He has this "playboy" persona, the old saying "I'm free, white and over 21", and the money to flash. He apparently doesn't want deep thinkers for girlfriends (our perception of them anyway), but wants someone on his arm that is pretty and will turn heads of his friends and appears to be "fun". These girls are disposable, a dime a dozen, so when he gets bored, the next one is waiting. He's been too public with the "no marriage - no kids" line for too many years, and even though these gals may secretly want that (and at times say it in print), they just want to be known as Clooney's g/f. That will be their claim to fame. Apparently it's a win-win situation for both of them. I don't necessarily agree with this, but I respect his wishes to remain single and childless. I wonder if any girl has ever turned him down knowing his history and not been willing to "play house" for a few months?

Haven't got a clue why davida and it doesn't really bother me.
George's not a "bad" man and appears to be a decent bloke and a decent actor/director/writer so why worry about his female company ?

I don't think Stacy is a "bad" girl. Obviously George prefers to flaunt flashy and eye-catching girls versus matronly middle-age women. Does he not get plenty of attention with her at his side? The girlfriend threads are much longer and discussed more than his threads. Just my opinion.

Oh Lela, quite the opposite. George has a very big heart and you can see the love he gives in so many ways. To his family, to his friends, to his humanitarian efforts. I just don't believe that he wants to give his heart "away" to someone who does not deserve it.

I don't think love has anything to do with it........freedom yes. George is a man who most of his adult life has been able to have his pick of the crop. He is talented , handsome, intelligent, fun, funny,rich, famous,powerful,etc. He doesn't want kids or marriage, he has all the family he needs, work and anything he feels deeply enough to believe in takes up most of his time. Bad Girls=brave women,that's what he said well not exactly that, he said I'am attracted to brave people, people who are not afraid to humiliate themselves to get what they want in life, to follow their dreams. As my 21 year old son says oh come on mom, why do you think he dates women like.......... cause he can, brave to GC may also include women that most consider less than classy.

It's me, I think George get's all the love he needs, maybe not what you or I would consider deep love. When the hard times in a relationship begins he's already moved on, doesn't want to deal with it in his life at least not at this time, he has his work to fulfill those needs.

I think George has the "every guy wants it, but I got it" mentallity with regards to his women. I think when he finds someone he wants to be involved with, there wont be naked pics of them all over the internet. As my ex-husband said (when I gave him a provocative photo of me for valentines day), "what's his is his, and he doesnt want other men to see what's his". And he prompty tore up the photo and burned it.

Ive also read somewhere that George thinks that being in a serious relationship will take away his "sex-appeal". Personally, I disagree. Paul Newman, David Beckham, Johnny Depp, etc, still have appeal, and they're committed.

I've pretty much been saying it for years Davida. George dates the girls he does because he knows he isn't going to fall madly in love with them. He knows what they are and what they want and he would never marry a girl like that. They come and go as he pleases and he invests what he wants to with them. He doesn't have to change his life for them they are happy to change theirs for him. Then when it's time to move on there are no hard feelings he goes finds the next girl. Same will happen with Stacy everyone can tell these two aren't in love and George doesn't even seem to be pretending. That is why I don't think she is going to be around that long. George is happy and maybe one day he will feel he is ready but it won't be with a Stacy or Eli it will be someone who is kept very quiet and not found all over the internet undressed.

Not all "older women" have baggage. And some are in far, far better shape than younger girls. You should have seen the bikini parade here in Las Vegas. Some participants were in their 70's.

I started this thread in part because living in Las Vegas, I see so many men trying to pick up young girls. Yes many are willing to buy them either on a temporary or longer-term basis. Their friends usually laugh at them. They look so ridiculous thinking the girls look at them as anything but a "cash register" like at the strip clubs. Their taste in music and entertainment, and their lifestyle are so different. Conversation is stilted; the men are so uncomfortable. Better they buy a sports car thinking that will make them feel younger again.

This is a question that's been asked and answered hundreds of times already. Which answer you believe in depends on how you think of George.

IMO he dates these kind of women because he wants to. Nothing more or less than that. He's not looking for marriage or for children so why not date a woman who's willing to embody the stereotyped male fantasy of the perfect woman for as long as she makes him happy? As long as she's happy with that agreement too, then there's no problem.

Other answers to that question include:

- he's hiding something, usually his secret soul mate who he's been secretly dating for at least 10 years.

- he's being forced to date these kind of women by a secret nefarious force who may or may not include his PR agent, the CIA, devil worshippers and possibly aliens too (I long ran out of interest in following this line of discussion).

- he's gay and these are contract agreements

Katie, love your answer and completely agree with it. Those other answers are completely ridiculous. I think George is basically a very honest person who likes women, and dates women who are willing to accept his position on marriage & children. Whether he or she chooses to end the relationship, it usually ends on a fairly friendly note as shown be the "loving" opinions of most of his women. They usually part as friends and always speak highly of him. If,perchance, one of them believes that she could "change his mind", she might not leave on such good terms and might speak ill of him (EC comes to mind).

I feel that your answer is way too simplistic. I started this topic to explore the reasons why men like G choose girls with a raunchy past. Wealthy men who are not as good looking or as charming as G can always buy young supermodels, in the same way that they buy a sports car, because they are overcompensating. And they think that others admire them and are not laughing behind their backs. Of course G can select whichever girls he wants; he has unlimited choices. My question is why would he risk turning off his carefully cultivated female fan base, by choosing a girl he must know makes him look foolish because she uses him and has apparently limited talent. He should at least select a girl who is a good enough actress to at least FAKE looking like she admires him and WANTS to be with HIM.

I honestly don't think he sees it that way.

Remember, he actually knows the women he's dating; he knows what they're really like and what really is happening behind the scenes. He therefore knows how much - or how little - of the criticism from his fan base is actually justified.

Stacy isn't the first woman he's dated who his fans have disliked and considered 'beneath him'. It's been the same story for every single woman he's dated in the past 10 years, including Celine. And yet he still has fans, many of them from the 90s when he first started becoming famous so it's clear that his choice of girlfriend doesn't damage his relationship with the fans.

Secondly, I think it would be crazy to expect a person, any person, to live their life dictated to by others. That would include George trying to live his life to satisfy the demands of his fans. He's free to date whoever he chooses and as long as it's not immoral or illegal then it shouldn't be an issue.

As for why he chooses women with a "raunchy past" my personal opinion is that he likes a bit of kink in his life and vanilla doesn't do it for him. He could of course date a lovely girl and then hire prostitutes to do what he likes on the side but that doesn't seem to be his style.

I understand what you say about his fanbase - but it would mean that he chooses his girlfriend with a long term plan (which he doesn't seem to have) and all the PR arrangements in mind... maybe the PR comes in later, and I would imagine that the first thing is bar-drinks-girl-bed, and then would come the PR (how to sell it) ? who knows ?

By the same token i don't get female attraction to "bad boys" either. I look for a very protective, intelligent, responsible man, not a "boy" that I must tell to "be a man." Some "nice guys" may not give you a sense of strength, which I equate with sexual attraction. I understand that some men and women are impulsive in choosing dates; I am very logical.

I think his recent interview gave a little insight into why he has chosen these types in the past (including Stacey).

I agree that he picks these gals cause he's knows they wouldn't be the type of woman he would marry.

But I believe that his comment about no longer ruling out marriage may be the death knell for his relationship with Stacey. He says he doesn't think about it but I think deep down it does pass his mind.

You don't suddenly admit to in an interviewer that you've been lonely IN relationships and also talk about now not ruling out marriage if you weren't reflecting on where you have been and where you want to be in the future.

I still do have hope that George will choose more wisely soon. I think he has the capacity to be in a long term committed relationship (whether actual marriage happens that remains to be seen) but I think he might just surprise the hell out of all of us.

This is not a new statement of George. I've read it two years ago in an interview in Italy while he was filming the movie "The American" in that interview he also said that he had settled down and had a wonderful companion in his life and was Ely.

i agree with you on the one point. I am going to be 43 soon and have no kids and am still VERY active. Age can be a stereotype in itself. Some women by my age are running around with three kids and a SUV. I think it is all in who you are friends with. if all of your female friends are having kids you want them. if all of your friends don't work out, chances are you may not. I only have one friend with a baby coming and she is my age and it's her first. I think it's about how society views a woman. i tell people my age ( they are shocked i don't look it, the when they ask oh you MUST have kids. I say no and once again they are shocked followed by "Whyyy???"

It is not necessary to marry to live a life with someone but beyond love you must be willing to change to consider that you no longer care only for you but also to those of the other person and so it is both! All they have to change in a relationship if one does not change will never be an equal relationship but one will be unhappy, or worse still the doormat of the other.
