HOW TO . . . Ignore another poster

I don't really encourage this as this should be the kind of forum where we're mature enough to deal with other people even when we don't like them or agree with what they're posting, but if there's a poster who's truly pissing you off and ruining your time here, you can try this simple thing:

1. Go to your profile (the third icon down in the title bar, underneath where it says 'a friendly place for fans . . .' etc) and select the 'friends and foes' tab.

2. Type in the username of the person you want to ignore in the 'foes' section.

3. Save.

I haven't tried it myself (for obvious reasons!) but it should work.

For me the third icon down under Clooneys Open House friendly place for fans invites me to log out. The other icons are Profile and email.

It's profile that you want, Cindi, as in the instructions! Sorry it's not in the same order as I see it - is it the second icon for you?

Huh? How did I do that? Now for some reason the links to profile, log out etc etc are under the title bar!

Anyway, that's much better because now it's easy to find.

Weird thing just happened. Went to check order mine is in and there was nothing there (no icons). Looked down a bit to bottom of header. Just below it, in lighter area were the icons, running across page instead of down side of George's pic. Wonder what happened. Used to be where it was supposed to be.

Yep, I just did that. No idea how I did that, but I'm happy because that's where I've wanted the icons to be.

Tks, Katie. Now I'll know all the time if I have any messages. I know this is a slight change of subject, but is there any way of eliminating all the dead space in our posts. It would probably eliminate quite a few pages in some of our longer threads.

Sadly the only way to make your messages shorter is to delete your avatar.

If you have an avatar then the message will by default be a minimum size (or longer if you have a long post).

Without an avatar your post will only be as long as your text.

The only exception is Lucy who for some reason ends up with acres of space in the middle of some of her posts and I've no idea why!

Just bumping this topic in case not everyone saw it. You can easily ignore another poster on this site if you would prefer not to read their posts.

And as much as katie doesn't encourage this, sometimes there are the troll types that aren't really interested in conversation but in merely posting nothing but nastiness and this is one way to deal with it.  

And as I said in another thread, if the poster gets into longer posts, it shortens the thread since only one line show up under their posts in your view.

Let a thousand flowers bloom. Doesn´t matter. Besides it´s entertaining.

Not so entertaining for us moderators at times - but I do so enjoy a challenge
