I think that other photo showing 'bruising' was makeup for the film, no?

I think so, too.
George is not stupid, so I guess after that accident in "Syriana" he will be more careful and leave the dangerous scenes to the stuntpeople.

It sure is nice seeing his half naked body … We need to start this kind of conversation every couple of days. Need my Clooney fix!

Re: George planning surgery in early 2012
When I need that kind of Clooney fix, I just pop in DVD of OOF, Solaris, or The American. All inspirational, just missing on thing, that FRONTERIOR(sorry if spelled wrong). They do the job, any one of them, and then it's the showers for me.

That's the way I spelled it when I first said it PattyGirl! Since it's technically not a real word, we could spell it however, but, I agree, a nice fronterior (non-clothed) would be very, uh, um, S T I M U L A T I N G !!!!!

Have to laugh at how fake the butterfly tatoo looks in the back shot. Reminds me of the stick on ones my girls got when they were little.

Perhaps that's the reason the scene was deleted. Being it was such a closeup, it appeared too fake. Needed some distance to look real, less defined.

Personally, I think he’s “taste tested” long enough. To save his future reputation, I’ll gladly sacrifice myself and make him an honest man!

Only trouble with that, then would we all feel the way we do about him. He's rather naughty, not bad, just rather naughty and we love that about him. Please don't make an honest man of him, you'd corrupt our George.

They had the scene, minus the shoulder bruise in the deleted part. I didn't like that scene, he looked far to skinny. Bones in his shoulders and back were showing. Don't like skinny on a man.

While I quite like the fart explanation (and seriously, I think this is just George caught mid-blink) this picture, along with so many from that night seems to show George looking hunched up.
I don't think it's just bad posture. It's as though he's missing a vertabra or two in his neck or has to hold himself uncomfortably.

Re: George planning surgery in early 2012
TMZ debunked - apparently George was joking about further elbow surgery.
George Clooney I'm Goin' Under the Knife AGAIN
George Clooney is still a broken man ... but TMZ has learned he'll be heading back to the hospital for ANOTHER elbow operation ... so he can return to banging Stacy Kiebler at full strength.
It was only two months ago that Clooney posed for a photo at the Ravens game in November -- sporting some kind of space-age elbow brace. His rep had told us, he had recently undergone a procedure to fix something in his arm joint.
It's unclear exactly what's wrong -- but it's not better yet ... because last night in NYC, George left the Carlyle Hotel, claiming he still had "a little more surgery" left.
Sounds like fun.
5:20 PM PT: George's rep now tells us the actor was kidding when he said he needed more surgery. Let's hope so. Surgery sucks.

Why do they (TMZ) jump to the conclusion that it's his elbow? Just another example of how an offhand remark is expanded with assumptions (2+2=5)

Re: George planning surgery in early 2012
Katie in your picture above, as well as many that I've seen lately, he is hunched over, ever so slightly, so that it's almost not noticeable lately, when he thinks no one is focussed on him or it might be when the pain is too great from moving around or the wrong way. And Stacy (it appears) is trying to help talk him through it, from the way it looks in that picture above. Again, intrepreting a still isn't an exact science but it's how it appears to me and as I said, I've seen several with just a hint like this that he is very uncomfortable physically.

Lighter, I agree with you. In the picture above you can see how tightly he's clenching Stacy's hand and how he's hunched over. He's obviously in pain. She's trying to comfort him and I give her a nod for the maturity she's displaying in that moment.

My thoughts too. He's denying elbow surgery not the other surgery that we've already heard was planned and people just hear 'no surgery'. Smart move. It stops people worrying.Dexterdidit wrote:I notice George says it's elbow surgery and avoids the neck issue. So Stan is denying more elbow surgery good divert!

Re: George planning surgery in early 2012
So I guess that rumoured back/neck surgery after the Oscars was just a rumour and never panned out. I can't think of a time where he wasn't around or when he was, there were no signs of him recuperating from surgery - bandages, stilled/reduced movement, not carrying anything, etc. He came into the new year with all the award campaigning and attendance at events, numerous interviews, Oscars, Prop 8 play, Sudan, Washington, getting arrested, Cabo with Stacy, etc. I haven't seen any signs of back/neck surgery. I also assume it is not scheduled in the immediate/near future with the Correspondent's Dinner and the Obama fundraiser being announced as they are only a few weeks away. Would he ok the announcement of his attendance at the Correspondent's dinner and then also announce that he will be hosting an Obama fundraiser at this home if he was proceeding with the surgery in such a sensitive region of the body where recovery timeframes can be difficult to estimate?? It depends solely on the body and how the surgery pans out.
I know he has last been seen on 2nd April walking around and he could undergo surgery now and recuperate for the next few weeks until the dinner. Those events could give him something to focus on and strive to attendance with recovery and physical therapy. But would he publicly be committed to an event like this one that he doesn't have to attend (unlike a premiere if it is in his contract) until after the surgery had been completed to determine how is recovery is going or if there were any complications. I'm sure the invite was flattering but he must turn down 100's of invites every year. The fundraising at his house is easier for him as he just has to make an appearance and there is no travel involved.
I may just be projecting onto him so when/if he does have the surgery, he actual takes the time to recover properly unlike last time when he was promoting a film a few week's after which may or may not have contributed to the lingering issues that he has to deal with? If no surgery then hopefully things are better for him healthwise as he seemed to be hunching (I assume in pain/discomfort) a lot on the red carpets during both the Descendants / Ides campaigns. He seemed pretty relaxed and not hunching in Cabo the other week.
