Ed Sheeran announced he was taking a break from music and social media on Christmas Eve to 'take a breather' and 'see more of the world.'
Turns out Italy was one of the first stops the pop superstar made during his travels with wife Cherry Seaborn.
The English singer-songwriter, who owns a villa in the country's Umbria region, has since been photographed at Ristorante Da Ivo in Venice, which happens to be one of George Clooney's favorite restaurants.

The restaurant posted a couple of snaps on Instagram of The A Team hitmaker, 28, posing with the kitchen staff after his meal with his wife. 

'Super serata con Ed Sheeran,' was written in the caption, which translates to 'Super evening with Ed Sheeran.'


The singer can be seen snuggling up with four employees in the kitchen as he flashed a big beaming smile on his face.
Keeping with his low-key fashion sense, Sheeran's wearing a blue and black winter coat, black newsboy cap and black-rimmed glasses.
There's also another picture of him giving a thumbs up while standing next to one of the staff members who's wearing a suit and tie.

Seal of approval: George Clooney is among the restaurant's star-studded customers
Along with Clooney, Ristorante Da Ivo boasts a who's who list of stars as their customers on its website that includes the likes of Elton John, Sting, Harrison Ford, Christina Aguilera, Barbara Streisand, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne and Hugh Grant, among others.
Back in 2014, Hello! magazine reported that Clooney hosted some of his closest friends at the restaurant on the eve of his wedding to Amal Alamuddin. The A-list movie star dined with a small group of men that included Cindy Crawford's husband Rande Gerber, who's one of his best friends.
Like Sheeran, Clooney has also taken photos with the kitchen staff when he eats at the famed restaurant.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Sheeran and his wife have been staying at Clooney's home on Giudecca Island that includes its own private water taxi. 
'Ed said he has a dream of coming to live in Venice and having his children born here,'  Da Ivo owner Giovanni Fracassi told the newspaper.
The couple bought their holiday home in Umbria, near the town of Pasciano, in 2017. It's less than an hour's drive from Venice. The villa's adjoining vineyard was said to be one of the selling points that convinced the singer to buy the property.       
Sheeran took to Instagram to announce his break from music, in part, because he had been going 'non stop since 2017.' He added that he was taking the 'breather to travel write and read' and that he will 'be back with some new music when the time is right and I've lived a little more to actually have something to write about.'

So George has a home on Giudecca Island? How did we miss that one? Actually, I think they're talking about the hotel where George and his friends stayed for his wedding. Minor difference- guest/owner.
