Re: George in Augusta
Hi media savvy.
I wondered that too, but then I figured out that if they'd left Venice on Sunday morning, the time change would give them a six hour advantage.....and they probably took a private plane direct, and that means that now they're only an hour away from Toronto and TIFF........
Could be wrong of course! Could have happened weeks ago.......

Pan I think your right , they took the car to the airport. When they arrived they all came on a bus. I think since Ausgusta is closet to Toronto it makes sense the family and friends can meet the twins. And they can head to Toronto shorter trip for them all.

Yes..and there is a comment on the Facebook page that someone posted that " Nick gets to see the babies". I wonder if he traveled with Nina last month to Italy? There were never pictures of him, just Nina. He is 83 so it may be getting harder for him to travel so far, this may be the first time he sees his newest grandchildren.

Re: George in Augusta
Kneflin 2, maybe you're right. I wondered too when we saw Nina in Como last month if Nick had come along. We never saw the whole family out together.
It's great that George and Amal decided to visit his home before heading to Toronto. But man they must be exhausted. Long plane ride and the time change. Lots of logistics. Makes sense that maybe they flew privately.
Nice to see some new posters here.

Lilia, is this an official shot or a repeat publication of the French pap shots that they are suing the publishers about?
Okay. I've seen them and they are in no way an official shot. I have a feeling the Clooneys will be pretty upset...........

No it' s not an official shot !! But in those pics you could clearly see one baby -he is beautiful BTW-
I don't think it's the same as the one Voici magazine shared .the previous was a violation but in that one they were out so..

Re: George in Augusta
PAN - It' not the same. It's a shot into the boat, probably taken when they were leaving for the airport. You can only see the upper part of the baby's face. Pretty eyes.
They may be upset, but this time it's sort of their own fault for putting the carrier where it was. They could have put it further inside the boat or turned it around so the baby wasn't visible from outside the boat. I know it's impossible to think of these things all the time, but that's what they'll have to get used to doing if they want the twins completely protected from the media.

No, it's not official but it's such a shame........
Cynically, I am not at all surprised that this has emanated from Chi magazine. And it could be regarded as an invasion of privacy..........

I get that in public you are not in private so no privacy. I wish the press would leave children alone. Not just George's but any celebrity you have those that have no problem putting their children out there and that is fine. For those that don't want their pictures out there their wishes should be respected.

Re: George in Augusta
Well it's unfortunate the press won't show more respect for the children of celebrities. But hey, it's the press.
Isn't there a law in Europe about photographing children without the parents' consent. Regardless, George must realize this is a problem he and Amal will continuously deal with and it will be hard for the two of them to shelter the little ones, especially when out in public.

Re: George in Augusta
Looks like there was a towel draped over a part of the boat in the hopes the babies would be shielded. If Chi did purposely blurr the pictures they did a lousy job. Just the eyes are a bit blurred.
I'm still curious to know if taking unauthorized pictures of children for publication is allowed in Europe.

Donnamarie - I'm guessing the laws vary by country. I vaguely remember someone here saying it's illegal to photograph celebrities' children. I think it was Italy but I'm not sure.

Re: George in Augusta
Donna,
I don't think there is a European law about that. In Germany you need the allowance by a person to take picturesbof her/him and to publish them. Except of when - you know, you want to photograph a scenery and somebody's standing there. Or it's a person of public interest like a politician or a celebrity - but not their children. I know that you need the allowance of all parents if you want to publish pics of a school class on the school's website.
So in Germany George and Amal could sue the photographer and the magazine (who could try to say that they just wanted to take pix of the adults, and the baby was there as well, but that wouldn't explain why they expanded the pic of the baby).
But I've no idea about the law in other European countries.

Re: George in Augusta
So laws like that would be determined by each country? Well maybe as Lizzy said it's an Italian law. If it does yes George could be dealing with another lawsuit.
Thanks carol and Lizzy. Guess we will wait and see what happens.

To protect little ones Amal and George should to send with nannys and hair and make up. To carry out so public with paparazzi waiting to me invite a picturet! No blame to paparazzi they had options more to than a towel. They to know.

These pics are pixelated, however, I saw the original ones that were NOT pixelated. Wonder why the difference.

Re: George in Augusta
It must be so frustrating for them. They really worked to keep those kids covered up, down to the towel on the back window. In the series of photos where we saw them loading onto the boat, there's a sequence where the baby is facing that direction, but zipped up, and Amal notices the photographer over her shoulder and turns the baby the other way. I wonder if this was taken a little later, when she assumed they were far enough away that no one along the canal could get a photo. As much as I understand their desire to keep them private and safe, maybe it would be easier to just release one official photo to take the bounty off their heads.

They were always on an Italian site? Maybe "Chi" wanted to contain the damage, by blurring their faces. But I still don't get if the decisions of blurring their faces was taken from "Chi" or "Tgcom". I'm afraid that on the printed version of the paper the pictures won't be pixelated.

I wonder if G&A brought the twins to Kentucky because Nick isn't well enough to travel. Pneumonia is serious, especially at his age and the edema just makes it that much worse. My prayers go out to him for a full recovery. I hope he has lots and lots of time to get to know his grandkids.

Wanted to write: 'Was George doing the cooking?' And also wanted to add my suggestion that the aprons might have been a gift, probably to protect their clothes when feeding the babies
