It was revealed earlier this week that he and his wife Amal are expecting twins - their first children together. 
So George Clooney certainly had cause to celebrate on Friday night, as he enjoyed a relaxed dinner at Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood.
The Syriana star, 55, looked in good spirits as he left the swanky eatery after a low-key outing with his close friend Rande Gerber, in light of the happy news.

The Hollywood actor looked as slick as ever in a leather jacket as he made his departure from the restaurant with Rande, who was the best man at his wedding in 2014.
Heading straight to his car in the pouring rain, George kept a low profile as he slipped away from the restaurant to continue their celebratory evening elsewhere.
Meanwhile the businessman, who is married to supermodel Cindy Crawford, soon followed suit as he headed home close behind in equally smart attire.

The couple have been friends with George for more than 20 years - after the two men met in a bar in New York.
The pals even had twin villas in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, which they sold to a Mexican billionaire for a whopping $131 million in April last year.
The friends then went into business together in 2015 when they launched their own brand of tequila, Casamigos - which has gone on to win several awards.

Excited: Rande and George perhaps headed home to celebrate further together - having been friends for more than 20 years

Definitely Grant driving the car. So maybe they will attend the before Oscar party next weekend. The fail fails again that is not Rande that is Grant.

If they want to attend the party on Feb 25, they have to fly out of Paris the day before due to Cesar awards...A very long trip in 24 hours.

Rande seems to have driven the other car,  so I guess that at least these three were out together. But it was strange that they got that wrong since Rande and Grant don't look alike

Guess we will all just have to wait and see where George shows up next.

But really DailyFail it's embarrassing. Looks to me that Rande was in his own car and Grant was driving the other car in which George is sitting in the passenger seat. George and Grant live in the same neighborhood now so guess they carpooled.

we'll see if they both are willing to do that. 

I know that George did that after the Oscars in 2013: 
He was in Germany preparing for 'Monuments Men', came to the Oscars (I remember him saying in an interview that he didn't feel to be there in person), was back in Germany on Tuesday , received an award in Baden-Baden and flew to Berlin just after the show. I think I'd be dead after that...
But I'm not sure about Amal, if she's willing and able to do this being pregnant with twins nearly six months...

Carol, that was quite a feat for George. I'd be dizzy and totally out of it after that bout of whirlwind traveling. But George has always seemed like a high energy guy.

We don't know where Amal is right now. We don't know her schedule so it's guesswork to know when she will show up with George for the next public outing. Personally I would suspect she's not in L.A. since George was out with the boys. No mention of her being in Kentucky either. She might be in London and could make the trip with George for the Cesar awards show. That would be a short trip for her. But I'm just guessing.

I think he had to attend the Oscars that year as Argo was poised to win the Best Picture and you certainly wouldn't miss your second Oscar acceptance.

that's my suggestion as well...
London to Paris wouldn't cause much problems, and if she feels good, she might be willing to fly to L.A. after that, especially when travelling on a private plane.

I'm sure everybody would try everything to join the Oscars when being nominated. But between L.A. and Germany there's a time difference of nine hours. But - maybe it's easier when you're somewhere for just a few days that you simply don't pay attention to this fact, especially when you know that you're constantly partying. My cousin said something like that, he's working for a Swiss company, lives in the south of Germany and has to travel to Texas quite often. So he tries to continue with his biorhythm...

I've been to the States twice (spent about three weeks there each time) and always needed one week to find my biorhythm again after my return.

He and Amal went when they were first married to the night before party. The party benefits the Motion Picture Television Fund that is why I thought he might be there.

Does he have a reason to be at the Oscars this year? I don't think he does, so why put himself through all that intense back-and-forth if he doesn't have to? I doubt Amal would make the trip unless they were going to stay in LA for a while, but she might go with him to the Cesars since it's a much shorter trip. I guess we'll find out when the time comes.

they're both supposed to be at the'Night before the Oscars'. But I assume that Amal will only go on the trip if she feels well. Maybe they'll stay in LA for a while so travelling won't cause that much stress for her. But travelling will certainly get more exhausting and difficult as the pregnancy goes on. Maybe George's friends could do a baby shower for them while they're in town...

By the way: I just realized that we need more emojis! Mostly the ones with baby bumps, babies, lackieren, baby bottles etc.

Carolhathaway - I'm just wondering why they're "supposed" to be there. Is it posted somewhere that they're going to attend? If so, I guess I missed it.

I know it's a benefit that he's attended before but that doesn't mean he has to go every year. Unless he's somehow involved in running the event he could just send a check and avoid the hurried back-and-forth traveling. It isn't that important an event.

Carolhathaway - Thanks for the link. George and Amal were on the host committee last year. There isn't a list for this year, so they may not be involved. Or maybe the members of the host committee are the ones who pay for the event but don't really have anything else to do with it.

I know this is a charity George has supported for a long time, but jumping on a plane to get there right after another event seems a bit of a stretch. The way he's been running around lately he'll be comatose by the time the kids come along.

I think they were not at the party last year, instead it should have been in 2015 when they went there.

They were a part of the host committee last year I don't know if they went . They did go in 2015 though.

Carolhathaway - Thanks. You're right. They are listed as being on the host committee for this year. I still don't think that means they'll attend. Just that they help sponsor the event and maybe do some of the organizing.

I guess we'll find out soon enough if they're going to be there or not.
