Indiewire interview with Brian de Palma and his views on George 2.6.16

Besides the interesting comments about George I liked reading about de Palma's frustrating relationship with the studio system and how it works.  I guess I didn't realize the extent to which the studios involve themselves (even overreach) in film projects that they undertake. That was a bit of an eye-opener for me.  Thanks PAN!

I was surprised at how much meddling he found at HBO. They seem to be at the forefront of quality programming yet I wonder how creative anyone can be if there's so much interference from "management". Could it be that the system there is more collaborative and de Palma's age and background with the studio system make it harder for him to work within their system?
