Any time. There's always stuff coming out the kitchen on a daily basis. Chestnut and whiskey 'charlotte russe' with mulled wine tonight. [yeah, showing off]

You asked Donnamarie!

Breakfast in bed: blinis with sour cream, caviar and bucks fizz.

Christmas lunch: roast duck, two kinds of stuffing, roast red cabbage, roast parsnips, carrots and of course super-crunchy roast potatoes, cranberry sauce. For pudding we're cheating: Heston Blumenthal's pudding with a whole orange inside it. Cheese board wll be from our local farmers market plus a jar of stilton. Haven't decided about starters yet.

Lunch will be whenever I get round to it so turn up around 1.30pm and be prepared to wait folks!!

We're doing a super spectacular blow-out Christmas this year as it's the first time I'm home for Christmas in donkey's years and who knows when it'll happen again?

[ok, that's not strictly true: I managed to come home for Christmas three years ago but then we all got norovirus or something so it wasn't the best]

So GOOD LUCK !     

I'll bring white wine for the duck entree, and Casamigos for the hostess. 
Off to start my own culinary efforts.   Happy Christmas.  God bless us, every one.

Smoked salmon and Prosecco or Bucks Fizz for breakfast.

And this year duck and venison with stuffing, sprouts and chestnuts etc et

A different sort of Christmas pudding (less rich), then cheese....... and all before the Queen at 3.

Don't have to do any of it tho.  Yay!!

Wow Katiedot and PAN!  Sounds delish.  And very British!  Had to look up what a Bucks Fizz was.  The equivalent to the American mimosa.

IMO Bucks Fizz is necessary in order to cope with the rest of the day. It just takes the edge off . . .

So I guess I should have a Bucks Fizz to survive Christmas Day...

At the liquor store today and saw airline size bottles of casamigos at the checkout. $2.59 for either reposado or blanco.  Maybe fans who don't want to shell out 20 times that amount can find these.

I would be happy if Casamigos would be available in Germany at all because I would really love to try it.

Anyone in the UK hear George's name mentioned in news bulletins this morning (Boxing Day)?  I heard it on the radio but couldn't hear the story.

Maybe he's re-gifting Amal  to make room for Melbert

Katiedot... try going online to what ever tv/radio station you were tuned into, go to the "news" section and see if it's posted there.  Good luck, and keep us up to date if you find out.

We haven't had any snow since the beginning of November...
And now it's like spring, the blossoms are budding. Well, maybe we'll have snow for easter...

I had my ceiling and floor fans going Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  With two ovens going it was 80 degrees in the kitchen.  

Think it was warmer on the east coast than in LA!

Mmmmmm   Two ovens going  . 

Yes, it's been really warm in the UK too - we had all doors and windows open yesterday with 20+ members of our family all in one room.  Roasting!

Mind you, I'm not complaining.  Much prefer to be too hot than too cold!

Katiedot, there was an item on ITV news mentioning George. It was one of the founders of Social Bite saying they had made a lot of money from donations and some had come from all over the world and he attributed this to the "George Clooney Effect". As well as feeding homeless people here they were about to leave for Calais and one of the Greek Islands with with vehicles full of food and winter clothing for refugees.

It is great that many can be helped by George simply showing up.

Thats terrific!  I love the "George Clooney Effect"!
