Yeah sounds like something he said jokingly to the bartender and now the Daily Fail wants to turn it into a story about George not getting what he wants. Typical daily mail bullshyt.

Several of the posters mention the Vicar of Dibley. Well, that's almost exactly where they're moving to.  

Filming of the series was in a village nearby. And the one next to it was where they filmed 'French countryside' scenes for Monuments Men..

I read that story about buying the pub and at first didn't think much of it.  However, in Laglio, Italy he bought several pieces of property and friends/family stay there even though his main home is huge.  His new home in Sonning is reported to have 9 bedrooms, however, this pub is within walking distance of his home.  I was thinking wouldn't it be convenient for him to have a building with 7 extra bedrooms for family/friend visits right next door to his new home along with a pub that could serve food/drinks as well.  Just a thought!
