I wonder if they're filming at more than one location at a time, because this is definitely Queens, not Manhattan. Maybe shooting exteriors here and interiors at CBS? Way2Old, what do you think?

My guess would be that the 1st Assistant Director is shooting these scenes (maybe the neighborhood/home of the hostage taker?) at the same time Foster shoots other scenes in Manhattan. But that's just a guess. They have to squeeze a lot out of that $30M budget. If Foster had to shoot every scene, it would days or weeks to the filming schedule.

I think you're right. This place looks just like the kind of lower middle class neighborhood the hostage taker would come from. I wonder how much it costs them to shut down the street like that. Probably a lot less than shutting down streets in Manhattan. And I wonder how much they had to pay CBS to film there. That had to be a nice chunk of change, too. Making a movie is expensive!
