Forum updates
Just to let you know that I've tweaked the site a little. Now, instead of having all of Betty's news in one long thread, I've divided it up into separate stories.
I think this makes it easier for everyone to find the new news stories and comment on each story individually.
Like? Don't like? Can't see the difference? Couldn't care less?

I've just updated the house rules, should anyone be interested. Finally made it to 10, which I think covers it!

Sorry for the random addition of Christmas/New Year's items. I'm playing around and it's mostly guesswork.
Will remove the burning candles from George's head just as soon as I figure out how to!

I've added a chatbox feature. The link to it is at the bottom of the homepage and when you click on it, it'll pop up in a new screen for you.

Re: Forum updates
Christmas decorations hanging up at the top is a nice touch and LOVE the snow!
BTW, next time you're thinking of changing colors, take a look at the 2 bells (green/copper). Those colors look nice together. However, don't know how readable the Forum would be. May not want to go that dark. Of course, those colors may not be available for you, either.

Hi all
Just to let you know that I've been playing around again.
There's a few more options available when you click on 'post a reply' if you use the 'others' button:
Index lets you post in subscript (lower than usual, like this)
Exponent does something similar but raises the text like this
Spoiler of course lets you type something that people have to click on to read it.
Hidden does knows what.
And
[rand]This is what they call [/rand]Random
And finally, this is [wow]wow[/wow], just wow

Re: Forum updates
Yeah, I think there's a few functions that aren't quite functioning!
One thing that IS working now is the friends/foes management. This nifty little feature allows you to ignore messages from people you don't want. You go to your profile (top of the page) and then click on the 'friends and foes' management tab. To ignore someone, add them to your foes list.
You can also friend posters, but this doesn't make any difference to the forum as far as I can see.

Re: Forum updates
I'm going to be a pooper and say that I despise animated emoticons. Partly because I swear they are going to give me a seizure one day, but mostly because they allow people to simply slap an emoticon up instead of using their WORDS.
Bah-humbug! (Although they are good for defusing tension.)
So may I meekly beg that all of you supersmart, lovely, and articulate Clooneyfans show some restraint?
End of rant. Please go ahead and fill the page with spastic smileys to test my seizure theory.

Because words are flat the and and allows others to know what the poster is really trying to say.
Otherwise, the others are just for fun!

You're NOT a party pooper!!! You have every right to your opinion!!!
BTW, I'm really getting use to Blonde George and really starting to like it. However, at his current age, don't think it would look good. IMHO

Re: Forum updates
I'm with Piglove. I don't mind the careful use of smileys in a message because they do add that je ne sais quoi, but I will go crazy if everyone uses them in every message
@It's me and @Vi: smileys are there to ADD to your words, not replace them. I will delete your smiley-only posts as they aren't contributing anything to the conversation.

Re: Forum updates
Hah! You'll all have noticed that I've created a new sub-forum for all of George's old romances. I thought it would make sense to keep all these women together in one place, but once I did it I thought it didn't make a great deal of difference and now it's done I can't be bothered to un-do it!
You'll also see that in the absence of real George news, I've dredged up a lot of old articles about his various flings. I thought they might amuse those who weren't around at the time and be a nostalgic trip down the 'thank goodness that's over' path for the rest of us.

Just to let you know that I've de-activated signatures in this forum. It makes our posts really long and to be honest, I can live without blinking, flashing smileys and other stuff repeated endlessly on posts.
Avatars still exist so you can get creative there.
Also, to help stop spamming in this forum, new posters can't post any links for the first week in this forum.
