Happy Frickin' August!

Back to school in 14 days. I'm already in fixing up the classroom. (Heavy sigh.)

I like August even if it means that Summer soon is going to be over. The past month have been really hot so it feels like a long hot summer. So I'm almost ready for Autumn. I'm hoping for a Brit Summer (Indian Summer).

Right now we're having thunder and lightning, not as bad as down under but it always scare me.

Well speaking of weather, last night we turned up to soccer training, hubby stayed home and very umimpressed with me that I insisted on taking the kids in the slight rain.   It ended up being a great night despite the rain, instead of training they got all the kids from all age groups and played 1 huge game of soccer.  Mine had such fun playing with much older skilled players and it was hilarious watching the teenagers trying really hard not to trip over the little ones.  One of the best training nights we have had.   We only stopped the game when the lightning started - here is a picture

And they get to play on grass, we only had gravel to play on when I was a kid.

Play on gravel ouch that would hurt.  Yeah the little ones were not the least bit afraid and got the ball many times, the teens won the game 8 goals to 5, though I suspect some of those 5 goals were maybe given away.   The Coaches all joined in and the funniest part was watching them slipping and sliding everywhere as they were not wearing soccer boots.  At the end of the season all the parents play a game against their children so I cant wait for that, Im just going to pick mine up and get them out of the way so I can score a goal!! LOL

WOW sounds cool but don't run over your kids and kick them and so on....Your kids will see their mum now in a different light LOL hehehe

Calling all UK cooks who aren't on the diet or could be influenced  to go off the diet by a cooking question. I need advise on a UK recipe (  dessert) and would appreciate your input ( PM, so as not to tempt others!!).  Let me know if anyone can be of help and I'll PM my question.

A ring of Russian criminals has acquired 1.2 billion username and password combinations, as well as credentials for more than 500 million email addresses, amassing the largest known collection of stolen Internet credentials.

Cybersecurity firm Hold Security discovered that the group gathered confidential material from 420,000 websites, including household names and small Internet sites, the firm said in a blog post. The crime ring, based in a small city in south central Russia, hacked websites inside Russia as well as major Fortune 500 companies abroad, the New York Times reports.

An independent security expert analyzed the database of stolen credentials at the request of theTimes and confirmed Hold Security’s claims were authentic.

The Russian crime ring found hundreds of thousands of vulnerable websites and attacked their coding to steal credentials from their databases, Hold Security said.

“[The] hackers did not just target U.S. companies, they targeted any website they could get, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to very small websites,” Alex Holden, the chief information security officer of Hold Security told the Times. “And most of these sites are still vulnerable.”

Some happy news today, for a welcome change.
  


The Duke of Cambridge is to start a new job as an air ambulance pilot.

William will begin a civilian pilot course in September followed by dedicated 999-response training.
If successful he will join the East Anglian Air Ambulance based at Cambridge Airport next spring.

It will be the prince's main job, but his roster will take into account the duties and responsibilities he will continue to undertake on behalf of the Queen.

He will be paid a salary which he will donate in full to the charity.

Hi everyone! 

Been a while since I have chatted, but I wanted to update you on what's been going on with me.

I was put in the hospital in January due to problems with my new kidney. I have a hard time with infections.

I finished up 2 semesters of graduate school. Done really well so far. I start my final year on Monday! 

In July, I traveled to Augusta, Ky. Met Nina Clooney. She was very nice! Bought some nice little things from her shop. Told her I was a fan of George's and their family. 

Then just Wednesday, I faced another health crisis that required another hospital stay. I got out yesterday with my kidney still working. All in all, I have to say I'm blessed.

Ok I could use some good vibes or prayer if you have a higher power. The last 6 or 7 (lost count) injections that they have put into my eyes have not worked. The doctor has gotten permission for to use a new experimental cancer drug which costs between $1,000 - $2,000. Might be because, for the most part I only have peripheral vision in my other eye. 


I got my first needle on Thursday and not had a side affects that I am aware of. I don't want sympathy or anything like that, that's not me. God has the final answers but I cannot imagine not being able to see George's pictures. So I thought maybe you could if you chose to. Thanks and God bless all of you, and be thankful for what we have.
