Well (and you may think I'm lying but I'm totally not) just by coincidence, the internet block is down again and as a birthday present to me from God who rules my employer and the internet, I get to access COH today (first time in a LOOOOOOONG time.)

Well, altho brevity cannot be overrated, I can see you all need some help with your poetic skills. (NOT the humor skills, mind you - at that you all are par excellence!)

Pardon my (ahem) lending a hand here....


It's me, Lakin, been way too long
Since I've penned a rhyming song
Shall it be an ode to me
Or should I rather sing of thee?
How 'bout both? I'll do my best
And put my rhyming skills to test
Let me sing of posts long past
The memories of which long will last
Each of you have played a part
We've laughed, we've cried, we've shared our heart
But hey, this thread is all about ME
Cos' it's my birthday, as you well see
So far no presents, no cake, no card
And my bf has yet to get real hard
But my hopes are up, (no intended pun)
And I'll get a birthday 'bang' from my hon!
From the wine though, I'm refraining
Til the weekend, but I ain't complaining
This double nickel birthday date
Marks the moment I aim to start losing weight (again)
Saving up for shrimp and prime rib
A glass of wine - give me a bib
If there's one thing your LakeyPoo enjoys
It's wine and food and ok, maybe some 'toys'
But there's one more thing that I love, too
It's spending time here with all of YOU!!

Thanks for remembering me on my birthday, even though I've been truant!
