Vatican newspaper review lauds Gravity

L’Osservatore Romano has published a positive review of the new science fiction film Gravity.
“George Clooney is one of the few certainties we have remaining on the big screen,” wrote Emilio Ranzato, who characterized contemporary American cinema as “gasping [for breath].”
“Here, however, [Clooney] surpasses even himself.”

The 3D film, added Ranzato, “emphasizes the dialectic between matter … [and] the imponderable vacuum, dominated by a silence that alone already suggests the absolute.”
