Want to dine with George Clooney, Kim Kardashian and Shah Rukh Khan? Soon you can at Dubai restaurant Taste of Fame
A Dubai eatery scheduled to open next month plans to decorate with dozens of carefully crafted, life-size silicone renditions of major celebrities - each costing almost Dh300,000 to produce at facilities in the US and UK.

A Taste of Fame, aiming to launch at Sunset Mall on Jumeirah Beach Road at the end of next month, will be the first of its kind for the Middle East.

The 3,658 square metre restaurant will seat 200 patrons, each dining in the shadow of tuxedo and gown-wearing replicas of stars including Robert Di Niro, Al Pacino and Amitabh Bachchan.

Among the 36 figures will be a half-dozen Marvel characters including Batman and Iron Man and a massive version of The Hulk.

The outlet aims to offer guests a full VIP experience, beginning with "paparazzi" snapping their photo as they enter on a red carpet.

Partners Rabi Youssef and Mohammed Ezzat bring with them backgrounds working in restaurants in the UAE and Germany, drawing chefs from Zuma and The Cheesecake Factory to the project. “We don’t claim we are a fine dining concept, but we can definitely claim that we offer a unique and unparalleled experience with an ambiance and food that will not be experienced anywhere else," said Ezzat.

So, basically it's a rehash of Planet Hollywood minus the genuine artifacts?

I had met with a lady, let's call her Pat, that started a George forum after By George closed dow. She came to LA and took another forum person and I to see Syriana. Before the movie we stopped for coffee and talked and of course, the subject of George came up, and that she had met with him several times. My forum friend made a comment that it would be so nice to meet George and she hoped that one day she would also meet George. Pat then said that there would be no way either of us would ever meet George. I asked why, and her reply was :Seriously? Have you looked in a mirror?". If it would have been just me, I would have gotten up and walked away, but I stayed so my friend could see the movie. But it hurt, deep, and I dont think I could ever meet George now.

Playful - that person was being a rude bitch to you and bragging about how she met him, yeah not a nice person, best to ignore people like that and in my experience well their opinion is usually not worth very much - if you ever have the chance to meet George, then do so with a big smile on your face and hopefully a camera nearby so I can sit here feeling all jealous and envious xx

Who knows how her meeting with G really was. Probably "short" like her intelligence.

But I tell you one thing. If people put you down and try to hurt your feelings they only do that because they are jealous of you. They like who you are and what you have in life and are so greedy to have all that too that they put it down to make you feel bad so they can feel better.

So if I translate that what she said, she said you are better than her hehehe

And for sure you will and can meet George. Everyone can it just needs the right moment to be there where he is and the strenght to walk up to him Very Happy

Even if hypothetically he was with impossibly attractive people, that's a shallow & mean remark by this delusional, complex-stricken Pat loser.
Judging someone externally alone implies gross superficiality & ignores inner substance.

Hey I've been in front of George several times and I am no great beauty. I've not officially met him but I have never seen him be anything but cordial and gracious to anyone fan he's met - as long as the fan was also cordial and gracious.

Some of those "photographers" who make their money taking pictures of celebs, pushing fans out of the way to get them signed and then selling them on their websites, can be total assholes and douches.

But George can be very gracious .

This Pat person expressed something very ugly which was inside of her - has nothing to do with George.

On the one hand, had someone said something like that to me I would have wanted to kick her smug ass too. But on the other you can only pity someone like that - who judges someone based solely on their own perceived notion of what attractiveness is.

What a small, small person this Pat is/was.

Deb don't ever again let that incident bother you. I think staying for your friend's sake was very kind. Shows the character you have to have risen above that petty person and thank your lucky stars that you aren't her.

I think in this case katie we are all reacting to the actions of this person as a representation of behavior that we all are agreeing was uncalled for and we find offensive.

What would she feel the need to defend if she did come here? That she made a horribly rude and insensitive comment? That she feels it's okay to judge someone solely on her perceived notion of what is attractive?

To me she represents this notion that seems to be more prevalent or perhaps more openly expressed than in the past, that attractiveness is the only criteria that someone would use to determine if they would merit meeting someone else. Or have any merit at all as a person.

My opinion stands, SHE is the one with the problem and I pity her because with that attitude, I doubt she has many friends anyway.

This poor Pat apparently has no feelings of self worth or her own attractiveness. If she did; she would not have the need to try a put you and your friend down to make herself feel better. I always say no matter how old George gets, toothless or bald, whatever he will forever be charming and handsome, because a lot of his looks comes from the inside. You have to feel sorry for people like that and I'm sure you are more beautiful.

Now are we to think that picture above looks like George? I myself could not eat in a restaurant like that, I cannot even take those wax figures.
