No its not just you - every time I log onto news website another tragedy has happened, and some of it human error too.

I agree, it's alarming!  AFP in Italy stated that there were even many children on the coach  in Avellino.
Only days after the Spain disaster.

The frequency seems a lot more lately, as well as war & conflict zones worldwide & natural disasters.

Oh my... Let's hope for more attention from ppl who carry others lifes  

Training and security are crucial
We need all who have such job to be really focused on that
We can't save money on this issue

I just the story about the bus in Italy on CNN.com then came here and saw your post...I was thinking the same thing...first the planes and then the train in Spain now this...weird. Oh and sadly a church bus here in the US....so sad....

Human recklessness costs lives. It's not like a movie or even a post we can edit to correct careless errors or impulsivity. Real life.
The driver of the train with the fatalities in Spain was charged with 79 counts of homocide. But that won't undo the damage.

Only lessons can be learnt.

Accidents happen, always have, always will.

I think this is one of those blips that happen and when the media get one big story, they jump on all the other stories that are similar so it seems like there's a spate of the same kind of events happening when really there isn't.

I agree Katie and also add to that, the fact that there is so much coverage these days by network media of everything, all over the globe, that is happening in real time.  We get the news of a tragedy sometimes before they've had time for the first responders to get control of the disaster.  And there are so many ways in which events can be reported to the greater world audience via FB and Twitter, the latter is being used more and more often to break the news.

It is a fact, our world has become a "global village" and we seem to know what everyone is doing for the most part with tremendous speed these days.

I remember years ago listening to a very wise man explaining that because we get coverage from all over the world about every tragic event, and our make up is such that we're not  programmed to cope with it, we can get stress and anxiety and depression from sublimely absorbing it all. 
The flight or fight syndrome is within us all and was only meant to cope with the sabre toothed tiger outside of our cave. 
He said this before the days of Internet coverage too.
It's food for thought isn't it?

I know someone who can't watch the news everyday as she can not cope with the daily negativity.

If you think about how much positive energy you have to feel everyday to fight against those daily negativity.

And if you think about everyone always says humans want to be happy and good in life but only negativity sells on TV and only than people watch. Humans are so weird.

Oh it's me. I prefer sweet doggies. Cats are not sweet they little "bitches" and cut you bloody. Dangerous like snakes and crocodile. They might can't kill you but for sure terrorise you and scare the shit out of you. You always need to watch your feed or some toes are missing.   Sorry of topic.

Joanna, thank you so much. I could not agree more, he was was, you say, a very wise man.
All the accidents of the last few days give us numbers of many dead and behind each number are many  broken hearts and lives left to be lived....that will never be the same, fractured forever.

We, each of us, will have, or have endured terrible loss at some stage in our life....and I truly believe you cannot at these times, or any time of "personal vulnerability" take on the worries of the world.  You simply have to let them be.

I believe, though many tonight will not accept this for years to come, that ultimately we were put here for one reason only....to make ourselves happy....create a joy in our life.  (not make someone else happy...unless the benefit is self happiness)....If your joy is found at COH or listening to music, or anything else that makes your heart smile....you are doing good, you are doing what you were put here for.....JMHO.....with love joy and compassion....x
