Good news from the federal capital for fans of George Clooney (52) and Matt Damon (42): Hollywood stars are working for their stay in the resin back to Berlin. In the city they have continued shooting the film "The Monuments Men". On Monday, Damon stood at the armory in dress uniform in front of the camera while dressed in civilian Clooney t-shirt and sunglasses in her hair directed. The area around the armory on Unter den Linden was locked spacious. On adjacent bridges onlookers tried to catch a glimpse of the stars.

"The Monuments Men" tells the true story of a group of allied art historian, save at the end of World War II art from destruction by the Nazis. Already in the spring was shot in Berlin's historic center, among other things, the Nikolai Quarter. (Dpa / bb)

In der Stadt haben sie die Dreharbeiten zum Film «The Monuments Men» fortgesetzt. Am Montag stand Damon am Zeughaus in Gala-Uniform vor der Kamera, während Clooney zivil bekleidet mit T-Shirt und Sonnenbrille im Haar Regie führte. Das Areal rund um das Zeughaus am Boulevard Unter den Linden war großräumig abgesperrt. Auf angrenzenden Brücken versuchten Schaulustige, einen Blick auf die Stars zu erhaschen.

THE MONUMENTS MEN - George Clooney Back In Berlin
18.00 clock from Sunday evening to Tuesday morning, 6.00 clock the entire museum island for the filming of George Clooney's film "THE MONUMENTS MEN" was sealed off. On Sunday, the first trucks with the technology and the props arrived. Simultaneously, the first barricade was built with the vision protection. Monday lunch then went into the mask and the actor in the early afternoon began filming stuff around the house. Hundreds of extras roamed the waterfront on both sides. Only with a large telephoto lens George Clooney was seen between. Then also the pleasure garden for passers-by and paparazzi has been banned in the late afternoon. Tuesday morning to finally be back all over.

THE MONUMENTS MEN – George Clooney Wieder In Berlin
Von Sonntagabend 18.00 Uhr bis Dienstag früh 6.00 Uhr wurde die gesamte Museumsinsel für den Dreh von George Clooneys Film “THE MONUMENTS MEN” abgeriegelt. Am Sonntag kamen die ersten LKWs mit der Technik und den Requisiten an. Gleichzeitig wurden die ersten Absperrgitter mit dem Sichtschutz aufgebaut. Montag mittag gingen dann die Schauspieler in die Maske und am frühen Nachmittag begannen die Dreharbeiten rund ums Zeughaus. Hunderte Statisten bevölkerten die Uferpromenade zu beiden Seiten. Nur mit großem Teleobjektiv war George Clooney dazwischen zu erkennen. Am späten Nachmittag wurde dann auch der Lustgarten für die Passanten und Paparazzi gesperrt. Dienstag früh soll schließlich alles wieder vorbei sein.

and this is an highly UP moment

From the resin in the capital: George Clooney (52) and Matt Damon (42) turning "The Monuments Men" is now back in Berlin - and provide much excitement.

Back in March had George Clooney andMatt Damon in Berlin at theirhistorical film "The Monuments Men" worked. After a trip to England in the resin and the Hollywood stars have now returned to the capital. And not without having to worry again for a lot of excitement: High barriers between History Museum and Lustgarten, half hidden, old military vehicles and extras in '40s costumes were, according to the "Berliner Morgenpost" suggests that the Hollywood Stars are back at work.

No wonder then that a lot of passers-by onlookers gathered to catch a glimpse of George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray (62) or Cate Blanchett to catch (44) - but in vain. So far, the stars of "The Monuments Men" crew should have successfully hidden from prying eyes.

Have a hook filming in Berlin but then also: The sun worshipers who had made themselves comfortable in the Lustgarten, had to leave their lawn. As a reward for understanding the filmmakers already gave each an ice cream. Such nice bribery measures in Hollywood style can be quite sure from the capital in good part.
George Clooney is incidentally led quite relaxed with a T-shirt and sunglasses director, certainly has become hot during his actors in their costumes.

Schon im März hatten George Clooneyund Matt Damon in Berlin an ihremHistorienfilm "The Monuments Men"gearbeitet. Nach einem Abstecher in den Harz und nach England sind die Hollywood-Stars jetzt in die Hauptstadt zurückgekehrt. Und zwar nicht ohne wieder für jede Menge Aufregung zu sorgen: Hohe Absperrungen zwischen Historischem Museum und Lustgarten, halb versteckte, alte Militärfahrzeuge und Komparsen in 40er-Jahre Kostümen ließen laut der "Berliner Morgenpost" schon vermuten, dass die Hollywoodstars wieder am Werk sind.

Kein Wunder, dass sich dann auch jede Menge schaulustige Passanten versammelten, um einen Blick auf George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray (62) oder Cate Blanchett (44) zu erhaschen – allerdings vergeblich. Bisher sollen sich die Stars der "The Monuments Men"-Crew erfolgreich vor neugierigen Blicken versteckt haben.

Einen Haken haben die Dreharbeiten in Berlin dann aber auch: Die Sonnenanbeter, die es sich im Lustgarten bequem gemacht hatten, mussten ihre Liegewiese räumen. Als Belohnung für das Verständnis spendierten die Filmemacher jedem ein Eis. Solche netten Bestechungsmaßnahmen im Hollywood-Style lassen sich die Hauptstädter sicher ganz gerne gefallen.

George Clooney soll übrigens ganz entspannt mit T-Shirt und Sonnenbrille Regie geführt haben, während seinen Darstellern in ihren Kostümen sicher warm geworden ist.

I still don't quite get Monuments Men yet. I guess I will just have to wait and see what kind of film this will be. The cast includes Bill Murrey, which could indicate a comedy, but if it is a historical piece, it may be a drama. It may be a combination of things for all I know. I just know I, and I am assuming the entire COH "Clooney Watch" team will be going to see it, sitting in the front row. After all, since we have been cybersnooping this entire project and pretty much everything else that Clooney does or says, we owe it to him to go see his movies and put up a few dollars to buy the DVD or other merchandise for the film. I wouldn't feel right about following this forum if I didn't atleast contribute to the Clooney fortune. LOL

Not sure who Bill Murray will play but it is not a comedy. If you get a chance you should read the book. I am still not convinced they can do justice to the story and I still worry it will be campy but if they did it right it is a compelling story with lots hairy moments. The fact that these are real events and people make it more interesting.

Campy. That is the word I was looking for. It does have a campy feel, but this just might be images from the set that are confusing me. I am sure George knows exactly how to make this project work, and people will fawn over it, since we, yes I include myself, always fawn over pretty much everything he does, except Leatherheads.

There's plenty of information on here in the threads covering the story of the Monuments Men.

I actually read up on this, but somehow the pictures from the set seem to indicate campy. Of course, I'll go see it regardless of its set imagery.

They invest so much money to produce the film. I'm sure they only do that because the movie will be a good story and great movie to see.
