Here is michigan it is just started snowing at around 6:00. we expect over a foot.

Dallas TX. snow day for everyone,with the exception of the Green Bay Packers,who got their own escort from their Fort worth hotel to the new cowboys stadium in Arlington. Two sand trucks,four buses,one helicopter,and their own snow plow met them at the entrance to the stadium! Meanwhile a few miles down the road there is an accident on the freeway that will take an hour to clear with people sitting in their cars freezing,but what the heck it's the superbowl!!!!!!

Snow? My goodness, how horrible. I love snow, but only at the weekend or when I'm on holiday.

I'm living pretty much on the equator now, so it's rarely colder than 25 degrees centigrade or hotter than 33 degrees. Even when it rains, it's warm although we're out of the monsoon season now.

Sending warm wishes to everyone shivering in northern hemisphere winter!

I just tried to get out here is Michigan - My office is always open - 365 days a year. Had to go back home. Most of the city is not plowed yet. I hope everyone else in the snow belt is able to stay safe at home.

We got socked in big time. It's so funny, my husband's pick up doesn't have any snow on it but it's completely surrounded by drifts! The winds have been really bad around 50-55 mph blowing the snow around making it a complete white out, which so far has been 18 inches here overnight but we're getting at least another 6 inches today. We had what they call a thundersnow storm which was really weird.

Lightning strikes REALLY lit up the whole place with the reflective snow and it was weird to hear thunder clapping when it's snowing but we did. Scared the crap out of my poor babies (the cats).

There are drifts here in places over 10 feet high around us and the streets aren't plowed at all...they couldn't keep up with it.

WOW Lighter! I lived in Iowa 100 years ago (well, not quite) and I don't ever remember anything like that. When I was in Wyoming, we had a 24 incher, but it was gone in a few days. Don' think I could handle what you guys have got. Please be safe and take care.

Ha ha she is but an adopted one...she's from Sidney originally...her mum was from Liverpool and she lived here for 11 years - I worked with her for 5 years then the company we worked for closed their Liverpool office and she decided to go home...first to Sidney then she moved to Tasmania....

Dallas another snow day for everyone,not much snow but ice covering everything. I started this comment at 8am and finished at4pm,we've had power outages all day.I've decided that I hate ice.

I hate the ice too...it's horrible when you feel insecure just trying to walk to the bus stop! Flipping scary.

In Belgium it's just freezing cold. So now there are 5 cats sitting on me. I'm their heatingdevice.

Couldn't get out of Chicago, but perfectly happy. Bought bourbon, baked brownies, roasted a chicken. SNOW DAY!!

And digging out the car burned off all the calories.

I'm from Chicago and I remember that the last two weeks of Jan were all about ice storms and sub-zero weather. I dont miss it, but I wish everyone to be safe, be smart, and not take anything for granted right now. If you have extra cat litter, throw a couple bags in your trunk; it's a big help should you get stuck.

Good news, the "official" ground hog did not see his shadow so the time frame for spring has been cut in half, only six more weeks of winter.

And gee whiz - on the calendar it's about 6 more weeks til Spring!!!!
