George Clooney quotes from 'Friends with Benefits' film

In 'Friends with Benefits', there were two characters who briefly mentioned George which made me laugh at first, then squirm uncomfortably when I realised what those quotes say about his public persona:

I'm just gonna work and fuck. Like George Clooney.

I'm just gonna shut myself down emotionally. Like George Clooney.

Did anyone else see the film , and if so, what did you think about the George mentions?

Yes, I saw it Katie and even posted the second quote on COH somewhere.

If you watch the film and hear the comments in context, they are funny, but the humor is sadly because George is perceived as an iconic representation of a man on emotional lock down. How sad to be universally recognized as an emotional cripple.

Not the suave, Frank Sinatra / America's Eternal Bachelor image I think he'd like to convey.

But, it does evoke an empathy for him, like, "ah, poor George...let me heal your broken heart". (God, don't I sound cynical...)

People have been tweeting these quotes for weeks. I'm glad to finally know what they were talking about.

Oh my! No wonder he is working overtime to try to convince people he is in a loving relationship.

I finally saw the movie, well most of it. I saw the scene where these quotes came from and they make sense to the plot....it is funny because characters are saying the quotes at the same time but to different people.....(hope that makes sense)...

the male character says the first one and the female character says the second....

I think GC probably got a kick out of it....
