Human Trafficking awareness events this week, including film co-produced by George Clooney

Sexual abuse and human trafficking are not new stories, but federal prosecutors won two recent cases that have Florida ties and are especially chilling . . . [more at link above]

On Thursday, Jan. 13, The Broward Human Trafficking Coalition presents free of charge the 2009 documentary “Playground” about child sex trafficking.

The global report includes stories from America, where director Libby Spears says 300,000 children have been forced into the sex trade.

Executive Producers include George Clooney (sorry Danny Ocean fans, the actor and human rights activist won’t be there!).

“Playground” will have two screenings at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale: A 2 p.m. show for church members; non-government organizations; service providers and law enforcement officers. The second show for regular folks starts at 6:30 p.m. Both screenings will be followed by a panel discussion
