But they do! But maybe not in America - and really, who could blame them for trying to keep a low profile with the level of prejudice there? - but they do across the UK/Europe.

But if you're not watching the news that reports what's actually happening, then, really, no offence intended, you're going to have a distorted view of the reality.

I do watch the news.  Quite a bit.  And read the paper.  And I  am not suggesting that Muslims haven't spoken out against these horrific acts.  But I think a more concerted and vocal effort could be made.  I was watching the news this morning and one of the journalists who has reported for quite some time from the Middle East said as much ... Muslims need  to speak out more.  And Middle East countries need to come together to tackle this crisis. It can't be left to the U.S. and European countries with just minimal support of the Middle East.

The U.S. actually has actually not dealt with the level of intolerance of Muslims as some European countries have experienced.

Speaking out is a lot more than "We condemn this and we want it to stop." It means turning in your sons and daughters. It means not providing safe haven to those who leave you to learn to kill, then return to plot. It means telling what you know. It means not giving money to those who siphon it off to support murderers.

And for nations, yes, when it comes down to it, it means eliminating those who are incapable of understanding anything else.

Do you think Muslims are happy that these lunatics whom their own families are their first victims, are calling themselves Muslims? Do you think that we learn how to kill in our schools or what? Our Mufti, who is the biggest Islamic figure in Saudi now, had spoken a lot  against it, some of our leaders attended the french rally,  it not our fault if you didn't see it or read about it, and I am sorry but don't speak against another country rules if you know nothing about their culture and religion, it is hard for me to talk about Islam to people who haven't heard much positive things about it, and it is our fault and I am sorry if I couldn't represent some of its good teachings. People go astray, and you cannot control them, our country had sent help to America when 9/11 happened, and when the tsunami happened, it did send help too, and it will continue helping because it is what Islam teaches us , believe it or not, we all would like if we were left alone, but sadly it is all politics..

Personally, I believe any American (or anyone who lives in the US) who goes to another country to train with terrorists should lose their citzenship and not be allowed to return to our country -- and this should also be the rule in other countries that are being targeted and/or facing the same issues.  Don't let them come back in and "monitor them."  Let them rot where they went to train.

You want to fight with ISIS?  Great -- stay there and be killed with ISIS.

I did find something that speaks to the misunderstanding of jihad.

So in an effort to try to see both sides, I am posting it here.  I still believe many in the Muslim world are far from understanding their responsibility in this but read and decide for yourselves.

I appreciate everything you said here Boshkash.  I am sure that most Muslims feel saddened and hurt by these atrocious killings.  And frustrated and angry that these "lunatics" call themselves Muslims. They are not.  I dont see ISIS as an extreme Muslim group at all.  They try to cloak themselves in religious rhetoric but they are nothing more than a vicious, sadistic cult.

I agree with that. They should do that for every County. At the Moment around 600 Germans fight for the ISIS over there. Imagine they will return one day...

In Germany they want to place now a new law in place. If a German wants to fly to the ISIS Region like Syria can be arrested before this Person flies if Police can connect him with Terror material for example on his Laptop or so on. This would make many People stop before they get started.

I decided to say this here rather than on February Chit Chat.  That is my heart is broken again that a beautiful young woman, Kayla Mueller was killed by ISIS.  An extraordinary young woman who did more in her young life to help others than many ordinary people, like myself, will do in a lifetime. She was a brave and strong person, much like the other victims who lost their lives at the hands of a cowardly and sadistic group of thugs.
I hope that justice will be served sooner than later.

Yes Donnamarie.......that was a terrible thing
to hear about. I don't know how her family
will ever recover from losing her in that way.
